This is great as he has played the last two seasons in the Slovakian top league, albeit for a pretty bad team of late, and Timmins felt that he needed a move to NA to develop his game more. He will join a team that likes its Slovakian imports as they were home to Zagrapan and Lascek and it gets Juraj much closer to the team that drafted him.
Both our European draft picks from last season (Kosty Junior and now Mikus) will now play in the CHL, which bodes well under the new CBA rules that gives teams only two years to sign their Euros.
I saw him at a few of the rookie tourney games last fall and he can skate and has skills for sure. It should be fun to see what he can do in the Q next season.

has it been confirmed that he'll be coming over next season? I ask because I had read somewhere that he wasn't really considering playing in the CHL.

has it been confirmed that he'll be coming over next season? I ask because I had read somewhere that he wasn't really considering playing in the CHL. He turned down playing in the CHL last year that's why he didn't get drafted in the import draft then. He just spent a good part of the season playing in the Elite league, so he said he wanted to stay there. But flash forward a year later, he had a major slump this season, didn't do anything on the National Junior team and Timmins said that managment wanted him to come over. It's not a lock until he reports but often these things are worked out in advance so teams don't waste the pick. That said he could still change his mind but we'll see in about 5-6 weeks when camp opens for the QMJHL teams.

He's listed on TSN as on the Slovakian World JR roster. Looking forward to seeing what this kid has got to show against the world's best!

He has to work hard to make the Hamilton roster. Then he has to beat out somebody on the NHL roster. The team has really changed. Not just a few more wins, but a profound change throughout the organization.
