Do you think it'll be a re-tool which includes no longer caring about this year's wild card race....and hoping for a lottery win of some kind?
They're basically a .500 team, with a -28 goal-differential. If there isn't a lot in their pipeline....

Unfortunately, their window is closed and it's unlikely there'd be much interest in their bigger ticket items. They're built for the way the game used to be played.

Murray came out and said Carlyle isn't going anywhere. Fans responded with "you can go too" like remarks.

At least they and their fans enjoyed very good to excellent playoff success with it. Contender status for the vast majority. Turn, turn, turn....

Yep...and an elite 1-2 punch up front has always been preferable, no matter how the game morphs.

Exactly. That pair carried them for a long time and they had several years where they could have won a Cup (and did win it once), but eventually, Father Time wins and Bob Murray knows that and is starting the rebuild. It will be interesting to see if they move any other aging assets or if Murray is wedded to them. I think Bob Murray's a pretty good GM.
