I'm going to update my flashlight collection. One of the most "improved" technologies besides phones are flashlights. Lithium batteries and high tech leds have really moved flashlights into another level. Last week, I was doing some research to see where they were in terms of price, life and output, impressed, but what really caught my eye was a tiny....I mean TINY little flashlight that the more I thought about it, the more interesting it was. So I bought it and thought that at worse, it's a novelty item...... Today, I got it......WOW, it's a "must have" for my wife and I. It is small, it's a 1/4 of the size of my car fob, about half the size of a pinky finger and yet, will light up the side of the house. Like most, I have a dark alley on either side of the house. If my wife is coming home and hears a noise from the side of the house, there was no way for her to see if there is someone there. Now she can. In a dark parking lot, if I suspect there is someone near, I could light up the car and surrounding area. Up until today, unless I made point of bringing a pocket size flashlight with me, which normally never happens. there was no way to check it until I got access to the car, which defeats the purpose. Now help is on my key chain. Here is a pictures of it....Olight I1R EOS Video.... It's a "spread" light will EASILY light up any dark area around the house to about 150 feet. At the plant, with the light bouncing off a white ceiling, from one end, it lit up the entire 100'x250' open area well enough to see if anyone is there AND to safely walk about. Twenty bucks at Amazon.ca, ten bucks at Amazon.com. It's hanging on our key chains and a must have for us..... HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Next up...I'm debating buying a emergency flashlight for the car and home. It's the size of a coke can and can light up a 30 story building....or last for days at the reduce setting.
OR.....

GREAT....now I get $1000 per recommendation! I told her about the thread and the first thing she thought....could I get a cut? And they call me the evil, grubby capitalist? LOL! One thing I should mention. The light doesn't have a replaceable battery so they are only good for about 500 recharges. It should be thought as an emergency or occasional use light that needs to be recharged about one a month. If you want a key chain light that can also last for a very long time (because the battery is replaceable), what the flashoholiocs call "EDC light", or "every day carry light" then you should be looking at...or similar.... Olight I3E EOS..... www.amazon.ca/Olight%C2%AE-Keychain-Flashlight-Waterproof-Portable/dp/B019GQQXVI/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1547583478&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=OLIGHT+90+Lumens+i3E+EOS&psc=1&smid=A3E6E1V9X0VZ5Qwww.amazon.com/OLIGHT-i3E-EOS-Flashlight-Flashlite/dp/B017R560WC/ref=sr_1_8?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1547583720&sr=1-8&keywords=olight+flashlightCouple of comments... You can use any aaa "drug store" cell in it but NOT the rechargeable lithium ones. (I use only rechargeable NiMh batteries on all my devices. Including a decent charger to keep them fresh and handy.) It's slightly less powerful then the tiny light in my above thread, about 90 lumens, you wont be able to see much difference between the two, but, you don't have to worry about the battery losing efficiency. The reason I recommend Olight or equivalent brand like Fenix, Surefire, etc, is that flashlight now have circuits controlling them and the higher end and more efficient LED's, so quality is important. Cheap dollar store and hardware flashlights are not going to be as bright or reliable. And for 10 bucks, the "savings" are not worth it. Sooo...emergency and occasional use only, go with the tiny light, if you think you will use it a lot more, buy the replaceable battery one. Size wise, they are both tiny. I'm going to get one on my next Amazon order. (NOTE...emergency in this case is not changing your tire, walking into a big dark alley or finding your long lost relatives under the house. They are tiny KEYCHAIN lights to light up smaller dark areas....like the side of your house. Or in a power failure, your garage or house. Alley way flashlights are more of the "purse carry" ones with 300 lumen MINIMUM (recommend Olight S1A. Thorfire Mini or equivalent. In the $30 but still very small.). You know, for the guys who carry purses.....or pockets. Tire changing lights or "emergency" car light is far more serious size/money, more like the ones I have on my second post. No such thing as too much light. If changing a tire, you want to be seen from the moon...or by dummy/sleepy drivers.)

I'm still using a 25 year old pillow.
I'm a side sleeper and the one I have has settled into a perfect height, about 3 inches compressed, to go along with a firm mattress.
I've tried again and again to find a replacement and it's nearly impossible. Bed'n'Bath, IKEA, COSTCO....nothing. I'll bring them home, triple case them in 1500 TPI cases, try them...and half way through the night, out they go.
What I find is that to get the right height in a new pillow, my face gets half buried into the pillow. If i get a firm pillow to keep that from happening, it's uncomfortably hard.
25 years is a very long time and hardly hygienic, even with double 1500 TPI cases changed twice a week. BUT...I can't find what I need.
I'll take any suggestions on a pillow that isn't a puff suffocator nor a Spartan foam truck stopper....

Chances are you will like them. lol How I found them is I wanted a good pillow. So, did a search on Google for highest rated pillow on Amazon. Said give one of top rated ones a try. It had like 4,000 ratings, something like that. With 4.2 out of 5.

Another is anybody who has Intact Insurance. They are offering a free month for auto insurance. I got $100 bucks back on my 4x4 Ram, Jenn got $89 back on her Toyota Camry. Hey, its a free tank of gas for each. I seen it on their website and we applied. Filled out a form, and 2 days later they sent me an etransfer to my email address. Easy as pie to do. Do a search on line, you will find it.
Imagine other auto insurers will follow suit

We have one but not from Amazon. My wife received it as a freebie from a Tupperware rep. No accidents so far but I did notice the sharpness when washing it.

Salt...it kills.
In case any of you are using RoundUp or other chemical weed killers, you can use a product that your body produces....SALT
I used RoundUp equivilant but ran out. Since the border is closed and i don't know any farmers, had to resort to using salt.
The way to do it is....get a 5 gallon bucket, get a 10kg bag of rock salt for a few bucks, get a mixer head at Home Depot, pour a few table spoon of dawn, mix the rock salt well for 30 seconds because you want a supersaturated level of salt. Pour in sprayer and fine mist spray liberally on plants early on a hot day.
FINE MIST...because you want the salt water to stay on the plants and not drip off.
Soap....leafs are waxy and soap cuts into that and stick the salt on them. A tablespoon per gallon.
Weather....hot morning with no rain for 3 days. Salt is soluble in water so if it rains, it will simply wash away before killing the plant.
Safety...duhh. Treat it as a chemical so obviously don't douse yourself but overspray a bit does nothing. Your not eating so take a shower and wash off your salt along with any overspray.
Sprayers...2 gallon pump sprayers 9 bucks on sale at Princess Auto. Buy all plastic ones because any and all metals will be destroyed. Including brass and aluminum.
Clothing...disposable or if you don't have any, rinse them in the sink before washing them. Salt and washers don't like each other..at your expense.
Make sure you miss any metals....like your car. I don't have to tell you what salt does to metals. Particularly in hot weather.
We are doing this for 2 years and kind of glad we ran out of RoundUp.
And....get this....my favorite part...it's a hundred times cheaper then RoundUp.

I still see it in stores like garden centres but there have been high profile lawsuits associating it with cancer.

Aren't you worried about using Roundup? I still see it in stores like garden centres but there have been high profile lawsuits associating it with cancer. In the past? No. Completely different level of protection using RoundUp versus salt. RoundUp....n-95 mask, full double heavy clothing, elbow long gloves, rubber boots, etc. Very careful with the sprays, meaning keep the wand very low (about 12 inches from the ground), droplet sized and NO WIND. Salt.....pants, t-shirt, regulars old shoes and rinsing up my hands every time I refill. The problem is people use herbicides and pesticides without using proper protection, procedures, equipment and placement.
