It is a one for one hockey deal. The players are basically the same age, same term remaining on their contracts and same points per game offensive productivity.
The only differences seem to player position (Rask is center, Niederrieter winger) and cap hit (Rask costs 1.25 million less). Therefore, it kind of just feels like a deal where the prevailing logic is that both players may have more to give with a change of scenery.
