Has anyone heard when and where the camp will be held.
Along with our own rookies, Montreal Dan has some interesting ideas on who he would like to see invited. Over the past couple of years, the Habs have signed some interesting undrafted juniors and college players. The scouting staff will really need to do its job this year because there are plenty of holes in Hamilton.

If a lot of players from Hamilton or Junior Hockey manage to graduate to the big club (ie. Kostitsyn, Latendresse, Cote), then they'll have to dig deeper to sign some minor-leaguers, or at least continue to share with Edmonton for another year.

Timmins said in his post draft interview on HF that it would be in a few weeks in July and someone on HF Boards mentioned that it started this Sunday, but I have seen not a word on any of the usual sites, including the Habs official site.
I am interested to see what try outs they bring to it as it should indicate who they are also considering as a potential free agent signing. The past few years have rendered guys like Cote, Lemieux and Benoit, and there were some interesting guys in Tardif, Bisaillon and Melanson at the last camp who all could warrant another look this year.
Hamilton is going to be really bare without some depth moves this year as the Habs have essentially said no to a shared deal with Edmonton, and have only offered a couple of spots....no word on whether this will be of interest to Edmonton who still does not have a permanent home in the AHL for its prospects.

The facts are in. The camp starts Monday July 10th and runs all week in Laval. 21 potential Habs will be in town, including most of the 2006 draft class and most of the 2004 and 2005 group as well. One tryout is Martin Frechette, a defenseman from Gatineau in the Q. Good to see both O'Byrne and Korpikari in town again as both could be useful defensemen with their size, with OB bringing more offensive skill and Korpikari being a solid stay at homer. Hamilton is in desperate need of defensive depth, so would not be opposed to see both these guys signed over the summer months. On a related note, the article also mentions that this year's rookie tilt will be in Toronto at the Richoh starting September 7th. I hope to catch a game as I should be in town for work, so looking forward to that. www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect.cfm?sectionID=habsNewsDetails.cfm&newsItemID=5091

i love this part of the training camp
Various seminars will also be presented to the players, notably on nutrition, conditioning and on the Canadiens’ history.

I was hoping to see more undrafted free agents invited to the camp. I suppose there is still time to do that before training camp rolls around.
