If Gainey makes a move, I think it'll be something like this. Dunno if Eastwood can still play, but he was a good checking center at one time....

It would be a great move. I've been wanting Eastwood for a while now. He has size, experience, grit, D and he's great on faceoffs and the PK. He'could give the Habs two excellent checking lines, one of which could be used more against the Sundin's and Thornton's of this world more effectievely than Juneau's line. I could live with a 4th line of Eastwood/Ward/Begin if CJ wanted to keep Juneau with Suny and Dacks. Putting Begin with Dacks and Suny works even better. Juneau and Langdon could platoon on the 4th with Eastwood and Ward depending on who they are playing against. Sometimes you just have to have Langdon in the lineup. Eastwood could be had for practically nothing....futures or a 6th-8th pick.

It would not be a great risk for the Habs to acquire Eastwood and the Penguins would not ask much in return. He has a low salary and his contract expires at the end of this season.
