Not a bad choice. Francis was building solidly for Karmanos who wanted out and would not spend money, and he was dismissed by an owner who wanted to be intrusive in managing the club, as well as not wanting to spend money.
I imagine that he will try to replicate the Vegas hit the ground running design, but I think it could be trickier as clubs wise up this time around and just let the expansion draft without overthinking (overpaying) things.

Very good move by Seattle. Good head on Francis' shoulders. I love the name Thunderbirds, but that's taken already. Rainmakers is another name native to the west coast, with 2 connotations, one negative, one positive. As long as it's nothing to do with bears or fish or whales. Seattle Seals?

I'd like to see them go with Metropolitans. It has the historic connection to the market. It's unique compared to the normal team nicknames. The old uniforms were nice, and I'm sure they could come up with something modern that was based off them.
