Interesting.
Is it fair to say the NHL still does not really have a policy on recreational drug use? And when I say a 'policy' what I mean is that the league does not to the best of my knowledge impose sanctions on players who test positive.
I think cocaine use has been at least on the fringes of NHL culture since the late 1970s and obviously a great deal of harm can come to individuals using it. I suppose the issue could be revisited in the next CBA negotiations.

He just got caught, is all ... would be interesting to find out just what percentage of pro players (in any sport) actually partake in blow ...
Cheers.

I have no way of knowing ... what I do know is that if any player let their partying become a blemish on the organization, Marc Bergevin had no problem moving them out ... Zach Kassian, Christian Thomas, Devante Smith-Pelly, and finally Alex Galchenyuk, were all shown the door because of partying ... just thinking about that, the great teams of the 70s partied hard, too ... check out Guy Lafleur from back in the day ... "Lafleur ... Cheating Death and Taxes" and Irving Grundman was not impressed with this "distraction" ... Cheers.

Imagine doing that and competing at as high a level as he did. Esposito used camp to get into shape, famously. Guys came to camp 15lbs over weight and sweat it off in September.

I think cocaine use is worse than you think during the season ...in 2016 the league changed it's drug testing policy because so many samples in 2015 tested positive for cocaine. Since 2016, every doping sample is now tested for cocaine

"I never took drugs, give me a drug test and I’ll pass it," he told Russian media outlet Sport Express in May.

Cocaine's not a drug. It's a sensory enhancing supplement.
