Like it or not, Cherry and MacLean generate the ad revenue. All the others combined don't balance the scales. It was rumoured before the end of the draft that Cherry's status was up in the air. I can't remember for certain, but the coming year may be his last.
Kypreos will likely land on his feet somewhere, perhaps MSG network what with his ties to the Rangers. Shannon's 63. I think he likely hangs em up. Maybe does something part time in radio.

I'll bet Friedmann ain't going anywhere When are Don and Ron going out to pasture Friedge is with TSN. It's Sportsnet making the cuts. Probably saving $$, though it remains to be seen if the quality standards stay the same. Kypreos and Shannon are very good. McLean is ok too. Rogers is doing the same thing at the baseball level. Payroll has been slashed. The pitching is abominable, but it's not costing them much. They must be amongst the lowest 5 teams in baseball, payroll wise. Charlie Montoyo may be a deserving manager, but you can bet he may be one of the lowest paid managers. The bean counters at Rogers rule.

Don't think he's ever worked for TSN.

Rogers has shown a willingness to pay guys - even with the Jays. Now isn't the time. Let the kids take over, establish themselves, pay them - and they will have to - then add when needed.

Speaking of bean counting TSN took a machete to TSN radio in ottawa and cleaned house a few months back...

RE: Kypreos. His tweet speaks to negotiations not working out. It doesn't appear he was declared redundant.
Perhaps they wanted him to stay on at a lower salary, and he said, "No thanks."
IMO, he developed into a solid analyst who, while understandably partisan, was tough on the Leafs when they needed it.
He'll find somewhere to land, if he hadn't already found it before making his decision.

His contract had expired. At least I think it was him. Might have been McLean. Or one of the other dozen guys let go.
