I've been derelect in getting to Frontenacs games even when there's a Mtl prospect in town. I really have to make a concerted effort to get out there and watch these kids.
It's just that Kingston is such a frustrating team to watch ... all this talent and ... reminds me of the Habs come to think of it.
Cheers.

I guess Pat Hickey has been transferred to the Hamilton beat... Another Kostitsyn eyes Canadiens[/b] Sergei a scoring star in junior. Younger brother of Habs' Andrei also shows he can play at defensive end of the ice
PAT HICKEY, The Gazette Published: Tuesday, April 24, 2007
Sergei Kostitsyn was disappointed when the Canadiens decided not to send him to Hamilton last fall.
Next fall, he may be disappointed if the Canadiens do send him to Hamilton.
The other Kostitsyn - he's the younger brother of Andrei Kostitsyn, who finished the season in Montreal - said yesterday that he'll be going to the Canadiens' camp next September with the idea of staying in Montreal.
"We'll see what happens, but I'm going to try my best to make the NHL," Kostitsyn said last night before the London Knights' 5-2 loss to the Plymouth Whalers in an Ontario Hockey League playoff game.
"I've played two years here in London and I think that I've gotten better," said Kostitsyn, who was the Canadiens' sixth-round draft choice (200th overall) in 2005. He was at camp in Montreal last fall. The scoop[/quote] i hope he doesn't sulk like kosty sr. and not give it his all in the ahl, i don't think he'll have much of a shot to make the big club, although according to dale hunter he does have a crack at it. we can never have enough nhl quality talent though, and i hope this kid turns into another solid player, maybe even better than his brother.

If the Knights lose tonight and the Dogs can advance, then we could see Kostitsyn in Hamilton this year. Can't wait to see what he can do at the next level.

i hope he doesn't sulk like kosty sr. and not give it his all in the ahl You assume he was sulking... there could have been a lot of factors affecting his play. For one, he was totally removed from any family support and was thousands of miles away from home, living in a country where he struggled to understand anyone. Sergei, on the other hand, had big brother just down the road. Anyone who has raised a family knows that every 18 year old struggles to adapt differently. The fact that he has adapted is great news and don't always need to be tempered with comments that really have no basis in fact. Why not appreciate the fact that he has developed into a very good hockey player who will likely contribute to any success the Habs enjoy over the next few year.

Kosty junior and his team live to play another day after a big 5-2 win tonight facing elimination. He had one assist, but his big shot team-mates Kane and Gagner finally awoke and had three points each to pace the Knights towards their first victory against the tough Whalers team.
Mathieu Carle had two helpers in a 4-3 loss, so his team is now on the brink of elimination as they are down 3-0, although at home.

Carle gets a goal and an assist but it is not enough as Lewiston proves to be the stronger club and prevails with the sweep. Mathieu is now in limbo as he likely will be offered a contract by the big club in the next little while. They have no spare dmen in Hamilton with Cote injured and Archer just returning last night, so it would make sense to get an extra body there asap.
Back in Ohio, our boys remain unbeaten with a 1-0 win tonight to take a 2-0 lead in their best of seven divisional final. Desjardins was perfect tonight and is 5-0 this post season with two shut outs. Aubin with an assist, and now he and the boys get to go home for the next number of games. BTW, four of the five wins for the Cyclones have come on the road. They are playing well.

The drive from London to Hamilton is not too far.

After losing their first of the playoffs last night in a close 4-3 loss at home, the Cyclones bounced back with a big 5-3 win tonight to bring the series to 3-1 in their favour. Desjardins picks up the win and he has seen every minute of play in the post season and has been really solid. Stewart added another goal tonight after been held pointless last night. Finish them off boys!!
