Dis's Naslund 6-pt. night GDT clip nudged me to start a thread honouring Le Petit Viking. 1986-87. Defending Cup champs. Highlights from Round 1, Game 2 vs. Bruins. 4-3 OT. Beauty of a winner by Naslund. Cam Neely's first season in Boston...gets the hat-trick in this one.

Habs swept the Bruins. Round 2. vs. the Nordiques. Nords win the first two at the Forum. Habs take Game 3 at le Colisee, 7-2. Pivotal Game 4 goes to OT. Naslund gets it done again. Habs take the series in 7.
Don't recall the Round 3 series against the Flyers, who knocked us out in 6.

Both of the above goals are in this career retrospective. So quick and crafty.

12th all-time in Habs' scoring.
In our Top 20, only Lafleur and Beliveau have a higher PPG percentage--granted over a much longer haul. Comparable to the Boomer, though.
1st. Lafleur -- 1.297 over 961 GP. 2nd. Beliveau -- 1.084 over 1125 GP. 12th. Naslund -- .992 over 617 GP. 9th. Geoffrion -- .991 over 766 GP. 4th. M. Richard -- .988 over 978 GP. 19th. P. Mahovlich -- .981 over 580 GP.
**In his 3.5-year stay with the Habs, Frank Mahovlich sits 45th...with a 1.179 pace over 263 games.

Don't recall the Round 3 series against the Flyers, who knocked us out in 6. I'll never forget round 2.. the Gazette had a picture, hand drawn, of a war scene with the Habs players trudging along, beaten and defeated and on a hill in the background a tank with the Nords logo on it. That was a great series. Loved Mats... was thrilled to see him at the celebration of Captains this year.

Those Habs-Nords clashes. Wow. Naslund was a crafty player. Lots of fun to watch.
