He's a big guy and seems to have a scoring touch, but without improving his skating, he's a long shot. Thanks for the info. I was grying to equate his stats there with what they might be in the CHL.

Some prospect “news” from Berg’s presser today. I think both Caufield and Harris are ready to be offered an ELC and turn pro at the end of their NCAA season this year.

What a shot by Caufield. That came out of the net faster than most guys can shoot it. Not sure the goalie has seen it yet. He had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 UW win tonight.

Norlinder unleashes his shot for the PP goal. It narrows the gap to 3-2 with 13 left in the third.
Edit: Frolunda scored the next two goals to complete the come back with a 4-3 win.

Caulfield should have nothing to learn from college play so turning pro and in Laval is the one and only option.
I was told in the AHL, there are man with attitudes. Bad attitudes. And aspirations. Big aspirations. There, Caulfield can prove to us that he's capable to play against man and their aspi-tudes. Or not.
I'm not high on Caulfield. If his vision and shot are as good as the advertising suggests, he should be able to light up the AHL. If he can't there, he certainly wont at the NHL level. This is all about getting time and space which is tough in the AHL and way tougher in the NHL.
We'll see....

Edit.....I'm dying to have the old Hamilton days back. Those excursions where I got to play an amateur scout were fun and insightful. I'm open to someone sponsoring me for those Laval trips! *cough* I'm cheap *cough*

Farrell with a three point night. His second assist sets a new franchise record for assists. He is running away with the league assist race, and is five points up on Coronato for the league points lead.
It sure looked like he had the secondary assist on the OT winner. I wonder if they will adjust the stats. He digs the puck out on the boards in his end, to his D Ufko (draft eligible 2021), who feeds to Doan who skates in for da winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Two helpers tonight by Caufield in Wisconsin’s 2-1 OT win. Both were PP goals by Holloway, and assists by Weissbach and Caufield.

Gordin back in action today after missing the last few games (minor injury?). He normally lines up on the top line, but was on the fourth today (again, it could be they are easing him back in). He had an assist in a 4-2 loss. He goes to the net, retrieves a rebound, and makes a little pass to his mate on the far post for a tip in.

Ohio State and its goalie looked sloppy, but Caufield got the hattie today. The competition is what it is, but he is certainly lighting it up this season like everyone hoped for.

Two of those goals were not great ones, but they all count. Makes up for all those posts and other missed chances. A heckuva season. Now with 22 goals. Farrell did end up getting five points last night (1+4). He is on a tear again tonight too with another goal and two helpers in the third. I will post some vids later. |

The mystery draft pick, Jack Smith, scores his third of the season. I noticed 2021 draft eligible Cole Sillinger scored too again. I guess he is staying in the USHL and not heading back to Medicine Hat.

You like it when you see a little something different from a player. Gordin can snipe the puck, but on his assist today he goes into the boards, wins a board battle, and then brings the puck out towards the net that leads to a goal.

Olofsson had two assists in helping to spark Timra’s come from behind OT win today. He is #38 in white. Here is his second assist on the tying goal, he leads the controlled zone entry.
