New England teams (Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins have had a Golden Age of Sports. I’ve had a hate on for them since the Big Bad Bruins days.
So nice to see the pendulum swinging the other way. Celtics not getting over humps despite a boatload of talent. The Patriots missing the playoffs. Red Sox redundant. Bruins aging and regressing. I still hate Tom Brady and he’s moved away. Problem is he’s moved to the other place I hate, Florida. Those of you who wish him as much failure as possible, don’t sweat it. His Buccaneers have an 11-5 record but just like when he was in Boston, he faced some of the weakest regular season opponents possible. The Bucs won 1 game against a team with a better than .500 record. That was Green Bay in what was likely Rodgers’ worst game ever. The remaining wins were against teams with a combined .336 percentage. Cannon fodder. They lost all 5 games against teams with winning records (excluding the Packers). Tampa is a hollow team so I’m looking forward to a Brady humiliation in the playoffs. Nope, I certainly don’t hold grudges. (:

(: That is the thing that gives me pause in calling Brady the GOAT. he played in a week division for all of his career. I love my Bills but it took them 25 years to get a decent QB in Josh Allen. Miami and the Jets have been dumpster fires the last 10 years as well. So when you can get 6 easy wins each year, the chances of getting top seed becomes easier. I am not discrediting his skill and talent, but he had some great teams around him and always seemed to get good players for a song in trades. Let's not even talk about the Brady rule... Anyway I am just hoping my Bills make the superbowl and win it. Those 4 years in a row without a win still hurts.

I am not into basketball so Celtics do not matter to me. Red Sox are my worse problem in baseball. They won in '04, '07, '13 and '18. After all those losing year. While my Blue Jays have not won in 27 years.

How many times have we heard that Dryden wasn't that good, just look at the team in front of him? You still have for produce & Brady has won more Super Bowls than any QB. Belixhixk screwed up by letting him go. Newton was a dud and probably won't be back in NE.

Being a Packers fan, I was just shaking my head during the Tampa game ... they were coming off a bye week, and they got dominated, to say the least ... however, they've won six in a row now, and that's what you want heading into the postseason ... as for New England teams, I used to like the Patriots when they had Jim Plunket, Randy Vataha, and "Mini" Mack Herron (of Winnipeg Blue Bombers fame) ... that lasted until they got caught recording signals from the New York Jets bench (2007) ... "Spygate" ended up costing Bill Belicheck $500,000 and the team $250,000 ... they also lost a 1st-round pick ... but my first question was, how many other teams were doing this and haven't been caught yet ... that aside, I remember the Patriots going on a tear after that, and they didn't care who they were playing, they ran up the score as often as they could ... that's when I stopped liking the Patriots ... baseball; though I liked a few of their players over the decades, I've never been a fan ... hockey; I used to put Bruins cards in the spokes of my bike; Phil Esposito, Bobby Orr, no Bruin card escaped the spokes ... I've matured since then, though; today I use them as beer decals ...
Cheers.

Well Brady is back I the Super Bowl, for the 10th time. They beat Green Bay 31-26. I'm not sure why Belichick parted ways with Brady but replacing him with Cam Newton was clearly the wrong move. Don't know where he goes from here.
As an aside - the game is in Tampa so the Bucs will be the first home team to host the Super Bowl in its 55 year history.

Tom Brady did not beat the Packers, the game was handed to him on a silver plate ... they'd let pass interference go all game and when Brady needed the call the most, he got it ... that was the only concern I had prior to this game, and it came to fruition ... Brady's legend remains intact, and I'll be very surprised if he loses in Tampa Bay ... I'm not so sure the league will allow that ... as for the game, itself, the officials were consistently bad and the players adapted to that ... just about everything was being let go until it came down to deciding the game ... Tampa receivers dropped or missed four passes, while GB drops a 2-pt conversion ... the Tampa defence knocked (GB RB) Aaron Jones out of the game with a good, clean hit ... up until that late PI call it was probably one of the better games I'd seen all year ...
Cheers.

It's odd to read this dismissal of a dynasty on this board. As Habs fans we have had to put up with similar arguments from people trying to diminish Montreal's accomplishments. Preferential treatment from officials or the league, the myth of the French Canadian draft picks, Dryden is not that good, look at the team in front of him, etc, etc.
I guess great players and teams only get their due from their own fans.

It was the right call. /photo/1 That wasn't the point at all, jkr ... you're insisting it was a penalty, and I've already admitted it was ... my point was that they'd been letting pass interference go all game, including an obvious call on the previous GB drive ... Tom Brady did not beat the Packers, but his legend lives on ... I guess the Chiefs are up next ... I think they can take Brady down, but it won't be easy ... there's still more to add to the legend of Tom Brady, and he has the support system in place to do it ... Cheers.

To quote an old cliche - two wrongs don't make a right.
Just because other calls had not been made does not mean such a blatant penalty can be overlooked.

The fix is in, the league wants brady v mahomes... The interference was a joke I hope mahomes wins... I used to laugh when my dad complained about games being fixed. C'mon Dad. Uhhh....let's see. Game fixing in soccer, confirmed. Rampant, obvious drug use by Russian athletes with no consequences. Kapernick gets blackballed, despite overwhelming evidence he is a better option that a dozen fire hydrants that NFL teams used in his place. That's collusion among every team in the league. More and more evidence about sex trafficking rings involving rich white men....the same guys who own NFL teams. Several fires around the Patriots throughout their championship years. Television ratings being critical. GAmbling a huge cash cow. So....I think I'm turning into my father.

Another horrible game officiated with Brady playing. Must be a coincidence....Some were legit calls but I think most non local fans to either team will agree that the officials played a big part in this one.

Anyone complaining about the officials should read the post by BC in the Out of town thread. Every team gets screwed by officials.
I don't get the hate for Brady. 20 years in the league, most of the passing records and 7 titles in 10 tries. It can't all be luck or officiating.
I said it before. As Habs fans we have been subjected to this kind of thinking for years - that the team didn't earn it, they had the refs on their side, the rules were in their favor, the Quebec player myth.
By diminishing the accomplishments of Brady (or whoever) you buy into the same kind of thinking as the anti- Hab fans.
