Mets made a big trade yesterday for Lindor. Kind of surprised Jays never topped their offer. Don't seem like they gave up much for Lindor. Carrasco is a solid pitcher also.
Lindor is future hall of fame talent. Still in his prime.

I don't know if it is because they are trying to be cheap, or if it is because the players don't want to play for them. I do know that if they don't make a move this winter, the fans are going to be more vocal about it and may cause Rogers corp. problems down the line. They used a Melnyk line the past few years...the money will be there for when we are ready to take the next step. Well they are they and they still haven't ponied up. In my opinion they could of traded for Snell or Darvish without a problem and would probably addressed there real need at the moment. I am not disappointed in Lindor. I am more disappointed about not getting Carassco.

A free agent like Hendricks and Wong, maybe bring back a Walker. Those 4 players we don't have to touch our youth. Or barely touch it. Many other players may become available as season goes along.

I think if they do any of that the fans will be disappointed. I wouldn't be disappointed in Realamuto. You could then trade Kirk, Jansen for a pitcher. I would also look into doing two year deal for Giles and Osuna, basically throwing this year away as they recover from surgery. I think the Dodgers are doing this with tommy kahnle.
I know Osuna, has a previous history, but we are in the world of winning.

The guys a notch down, but still solid players I see most likely

Me too, but if they don't the fans are going to moan even more. Toronto will fans will show up if there team is good....if the team is bad....13-18kis the norm. It won't be a problem this year....but next year is another story. There is only so much of the money will be there when we are ready to contend a fan can take.

I can't remember watching a Jays game this summer. I think for the first time ever. Caught some highlights and interviews.

Rosenthal was on Tim and Sid last night, said he still expects Jay's to get 2 top players. A big name and one a notch down

Blue Jay's sign George Springer. A 6 year 150 million contract. Paid thru the nose but got a star. Springer was a 6.2 WAR in 2019.
With Bichette, Vlad, Teoscar, Gurriel and now Springer. Jay's should mash some balls.
Wish could make it to Roger's Center again. A nice summer night, a beer and crackerjacks at Roger's Center sounds much better now.

I know this is a big if...but if they could sign Bauer at a somewhat reasonable contract, then they become something serious of a team. Add in a third baseman like a swap of say - Moustakas for Grinchuck or a trade of Guriel + + for Jose Ramirez and we are cooking.

I always like Skydome. The engineering of it or something. Maybe just reminded me of those golden years of the Blue Jays. Joe Carter, Robbie and those guys. But I always like SKydome

Sportsnet reporting Jays in on Trevor Bauer. Also made an offer to Hand. To go along with Kirby, Jays really tighten up bullpen.

Doubt I am not going to get to Rogers Center this year am I? Looks like Buffalo will have the home games again this season. Watching the National last night, they are diverting vaccines from other parts of Canada to Toronto. Ford was on news saying they cannot vaccine their way out of this third wave.

Started following the Blue Jays a lot more since the beginning of last season ... I just like their lineup ... they're young and talented, and I'd pay to see these guys play ... this play isn't related to the Jays, but I didn't want to open up another thread for it ...

Mahola pitched good first game today. Lot of movement on his fastball. Good off speed pitch

Alex Manoah walked the first batter he ever faced in MLB on four pitches ... he then went on to strikeout 7, walk 2, and shutout the Yankees 2-0 ... I tuned in because I wanted to see what all the hype was about, and I wasn't disappointed ... too bad about the pandemic, because I'd have paid to see this team ...
Cheers.

Jay's needed a righty to balance off their 3 southpaws. Like to see them acquire another righty though. Somebody like Walker last year. Pearson I don't have much faith in as a starter. More a reliever.

Blue Jays back in pennant race is creating some excitement for this time of year. I don't know, maybe I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms but I certainly miss pennant races in late summer.
Latest home stand, Jays went 8-2 to claw within 3 games of playoff spot. George Springer hit a dramatic 3 run home run to finish off a comeback win against the Red Sox. We on the road to LA, and a double header against the Angels. Going to be big series as they are still in playoff hunt also.

What is your take on the SWR + Martin for Berrios deal? So far looking good, but giving up your #2 and #4 prospect for a 18 mo th player could hurt. Would of preferred Sherzer out of Washington and more cash, lesser prospects. Also would of signed walker back in the off season or done a 3 way deal to get Snell.
Hope they find a way to keep Seimen next year and beyond.

If they can sign Berrios long term can't see them losing this trade. May not win it but he is solid #2 starter. Signing Ray be important this off season.

After that road trip, they're done. Instead of raising their game to put pressure on the teams ahead of them, they succumbed to the pressure and their bullpen once again reverted to that loss machine from earlier in the year. Just not good enough. A more troubling problem is the lack of offense. This is a team supposedly with awesome hitters. Lately, Semien and Hernandez have been that. The others, perhaps feeling the long season for the first time, have gone into hibernation. Just not good enough.....yet.

Certainly been an interesting 3 weeks. 18-4 over that span. Jays are a young team with a good farm. Their future looks good.
