Darren Dreger was on 690 yesterday said Barkov is available. Florida looking to move him because it is contract related.
Barkov is more the explosive scorer we need. A former 96 point scorer. Faceoff percentage of 55% last year. Two big things we need which Dubois does not offer.

If Bergevin is going to give up Suzuki or Kotkaniemi, plus some other nice young pieces, then he has to be absolutely (like 99 percent) sure that the crown jewel he is acquiring is willing to sign long term. Regarding Dubois, I suspect that Bergevin knows the kid would sign (Brisson is the agent). Regarding Barkov, there is no indication that he wants to play in Montreal so it would be quite a leap into the unknown.
