Bitcoin?

Would you guys invest in Bitcoin? Or other cryptocurrency?

Reason I am asking is Elon Musk been buying them up like crazy. I remember in his book when he was at PayPal, he wanted to make them a world currency.

My nephew took a shot in dark and bought into Dogecoin this weekend. It jumped from .029 to .041 next day.

Nope. While blockchain looks like a solid technology, there's no way to know which digital currency will make it big.

If ever I do something relating to cryptocurrency, it'll be buying a rig to mine bitcoin from october to april, when the added heat would just be a bonus. But whenever I've read up on how to proceed, it's hard to find a simple, efficient way that doesn't open me up to scamming somehow. I just want to mine and have a 1/1000 chance of a payoff, and if so, I'll then figure out how to sell my bitcoin, but I don't want to create and link bank accounts before I can start to mine.

I wanted to get in on the crypto market. Matthew Kratter at Trader University on youtube is high on it. He has helped me before. That makes 2 big names. I may invest heavy in Bitcoin and same about in Dogecoin. Dogecoin doesn't have to move much to hit a homerun.

Costs a lot to mine. There's no money in mining it. Then only so much they can mine. Big wings are buying up most of bitcoin. I think maybe to have monopoly on it in future.

Bitcoin at $46,600 this morning. A week ago it was $32,300. It's been a week since I posted about it.

Dogecoin is at .0081. Almost triple. It was 0029 of a week. My nephew tripled his money. He is smiling, made close to $20,000 in a week on it.

Tesla bought 1.5 billion of Bitcoin yesterday. Really spiked it. Tesla had 19.3 billion sitting in cash. Elon Musk go that hard into it sounds good for future in Bitcoin.

Musk has such a big following. People will buy bitcoin just because it is him. Crypto currencies could be the future. Hard to tell. Warren Buffett says no but he is old school. Not a tech guy.

Bitcoin continues to pound out the results, 52,500 this morning. Has to be the security of it people like. I did a search online, was a 11 million dollar transfer using bitcoin, no other internet security on it. Takes a big hitter to move that kind of money. I remember reading an article bank online fraud runs roughly 7-8%. Been a few years ago, but I imagine it is still similar rates. Morgan Stanley taking a look at it now. I see Ontario Securities have approved an ETF for cryto. Only a small percentage of investors are into bitcoin. Sounds like a lot of growth potential.

Looking at its chart, could be 100,000 by summer, maybe 200,000 by time Santa comes again.

Bill Gates is against it, Buffett is against it. Musk is for it. But I see Gates refused to answer if he is invested in it. That SOB with all his money and preaching cllimate change and viruses, then invested in bitcoin.

I don't know man. A hedge fund dealer suddenly died and his family and investors weren't abe to get the 150 million secured away because of it. Not sure I would want that to happen.

Yup, without that password it is unbreakable! He should of had his password locked away in a bank vault or safe. He dropped the ball on that one.

I put $50,000 in bitcoin this month and going to let it sit there for 10 years. If Bitcoin becomes the new gold, it with go 50-60 times in a few years. If I am wrong, I am wrong I guess. No big loss. But if I am right be worth million. Its upside is huge! Seen this before with Tesla. These things can be the future.

Only I never bought a bitcoin and downloaded it to a cryto wallet. Like the hedge fund manager. I bought in the ETF. In three different stages. Its insured in a ETF. Leave it at your broker it is not insured. I got part of it in a TFSA. So, if it goes I wouldn't have to pay tax on that.

We don't have the $ to play the markets anymore, GNick ... I retired 2 1/2 years ago from the military training system, and Mrs Dis is the breadwinner now ... she works part-time as a pharmacy tech, while I draw my military pension and that's how we do it ... we've always been the kind of people who go through every grocery flyer, and we always wait until 7 PM before doing laundry (a cheaper rate of electricity) ... haven't had to dip into the RRSPs just yet, but when we do, I suspect we're going to be even more frugal ...

Its a rough business to be into at times. You don't know how corupt and dishonest the world is until you well experienced on the financial markets. Honest and intergity has zero power up against the dollar bill.

For most people, they better off not knowing all that goes on.

GME was the first one I followed. Back in January.

A short squeeze is when a stock is shorted becaused investors think it will go down. If over shorted other investors buy the shares up as they will be forced to cover the short. Forcing the price up crazy high
