Russia with a late PP goal in the second period. Bit of a dive by the Russian to get that penalty.
4-2 heading into the third. Russia's coming on. A very chippy team as well...they took a run at Price early in the second and got a penalty for it. Too bad we took a retaliatory as well.
Should be a great third.

Not sure about that, but is that duct tape on Varlamov's blocker? His mask doesn't look brand new either mind you...

We just blew the two-man and the one-man advantages.
In fact, we gave up a two-man down breakaway to the Russians from the blue line in.
Price with a big save....whew!

Thanks for the updates . . . all of a sudden it's next week (was supposed to be fairly quiet here and I was supposed to be able to listen in but I've just been able to catch in).

The ref misses a blatant interference call on the Russians...then gets Canada for a blow to the head call.
We're playin' with fire.....

5 minutes to go.

Carey Price wrongly decides to play the puck instead of freezing it and now Canada takes a penalty with 1:48 to go.

1:48 left and Staal takes a tripping penalty. And Russia's pulled their goalie for a 6 on 4.
Hang on to your hats.

Pavel Valentenko played a good game for Russia again, a lot like Emelin last year. He looks like a good one as well in all the games I have seen of his. He was deserving of his player of the game as well.

The Price save on the two-man shorthanded breakaway was the TSN Turning Point. It would have made the score 4-3 with lots of time left in the third. And what a letdown that would have been....up two men and get scored on.
How many headlines will read, "The Price is Right"?
If he's happy, I wish he'd tell his face. The guy musters no more than a grin. ;D

When the boys were coming into the dressing room, the audio picked up a player asking Hartsburg if there was any champagne. Hartsburg motioned no. Class move. Don't need any underage drinking going on.....at least "officially".

What a tournament for Price! All he really needed was a decent defense to show what could do. Now, if only he would accept a rumoured trade to Vancouver, he could add a Memorial Cup to cap an impressive final junior season...
I liked what I saw of Valentenko. It was my first time seeing him play and I'd love to see him come over. I understand he already knows some English.
It looks like Kostitsyn and Mikus had fairly good tournaments stats wise. I can't say that Mikus impressed me a whole lot when I saw him against Canada.
Jonathan Toews...tout un joueur de hockey

Don't need any underage drinking going on.....at least "officially". Actually, the drinking age in Quebec is 18. So do the Quebec players get champagne? The drinking age in France is 16 .... so what is the drinking age in Sweden? Now that is the question. Sweden has complicated laws. The legal age to buy in restaurants, shops, and bars with a alholic content less that 3.5% is 18. In Systembolaget stores it is 20. And owners can impose their own drinking age and some popular bars have drinking ages of 25 so they can get the "right" clientele. So drink up ....everyone but Toews, you be a good boy!! ;D

The absence of spirits in the dressing room is no doubt an official decision...i.e. if there are players under legal age anywhere in Canada....then no booze. I think it was correct protocol to not allow it. Now...what happens back at the hotel is another story....

Habs all smiles about Price's MVP form"We thought at the time that at No. 5, he was the last player left who could be a solid backbone of a team, a franchise goaltender," said Timmins. "We couldn't let that opportunity pass.
"I think this will erase some doubts for the time being, but it's his development at the NHL level that counts."
