Just heard this info...belongs here.
March 20, 1971. Ken Dryden faces his brother, Dave, who was in goal for Buffalo.
We know Ken played in 6 games down the stretch and won them all.
We played the powerhouse Bruins twice in the final 3 games and lost both convincingly. MacNeil was keeping Dryden a secret for Round 1.

Reading a book on '71 Habs. Phil Esposito felt so bad after losing to Habs he said he cried in dressing room afterwards. MacNeil kept mixing up his lines to keep Boston off guard.
Habs got a break in Game 2. Boston was so confident after winning Game 1 handily. They started Eddie Johnston. Allowing the Habs that great 5 goal comeback in 3rd period comeback. Montreal faced Boston last 2 games in regular season. Sam Pollock purposely started Phol Myre and Rogie Vachon a game each so Boston wouldn't get familiar with Ken Drydrn. Boston tounced Montreal in both those games. No doubt helping to their over confidence.
