There are some big name UFAs coming up this season although some, like Ovechkin, are not going to switch teams. Nugent-Hopkins and Landeskog are also going to out there.
Hamilton is making 5.7 now & is 27 so I don't know what his ask would be.

Carolina is just not into the big ticket players and Dundon despises the July 1 money that stars nowadays see as part of their entitlement.
I am sure a club may take a shot here, give the Canes a pick, and see if they get Hamilton signed. However, it would not surprise me if Hamilton waits to get a chance to talk to Seattle in that week the Kraken get to talk to UFAs before the official UFA day on July 28. As Lebrun said, an interesting detail is that Seattle is allowed to sign guys to eight year deals.
Yeah, I see Hamilton getting $8 million per and I would not be shocked if he ends up in Seattle. The Kraken is a rich club, deep-pocketed owners, and the ticket prices for their sold-out games are among the very highest in the NHL.
