Energy and attitude are important and Pezzetta is certainly good enough to be the 4th line LW on a rebuilding team. Gorton should get him signed now and structure the contract to scare off anyone who wants to claim him if he is sent to Laval later this season (2022-23 two-way: $750K in NHL, $375K in the A; 2023-24 one-way at NHL minimum).

When there's no hope, "why bother going the extra mile" creeps in. Human nature.
This roster is doing its best.
If the Yotes avoid an inevitable regulation loss against the Leafs tonight, we'll be tied for last place with 18 pts....Arizona with a game in hand.
Gotta be the goal now. Try to get the best lottery odds possible.

Not even halfway through the season and I feel the team has PTSD.

Pezzetta has the Bruins off their game. Not impressed with Boston. Depth is suspect and they don’t have the swagger generator, Chara. No one has really gone after Pezzetta. Tonight, Michael Pezzetta kind of reminded me of a younger Dale Hunter ... he was underneath the Bruin's skin all game and, was Montreal's best player tonight, IMHO ... nice to see a player who brings his lunchbox to every game ... Cheers.

Wideman should get a few games for that.

As thin as the lineup is there have to be guys that are still playing while sick or injured. Not like there are 20 guys out and the other 20 are feeling 100%.

Cheers. The colour guy on Sportsnet whose name I can't recall (not Mike Johnson), was adamant that Suzuki was Montreal's best player, by a country mile, but I must be missing something. While I was watching (sporadically...c'mon give a guy a break...who can watch an entire game of that?), Pezzetta stood out for me and Suzuki was trying but not accomplishing anything. Is that a reasonable assessment? Not that Pezzetta made great plays, but he really had the Bruins off their game when he was on the ice, like Subban used to do. I thought at some point the Bruins would lose some swagger because of not having Chara, the T-Rex. You could see some of that yesterday. I think a tough team with some talent (unlike what the Bruins faced yesterday) can halt any SC hopes they have. Their lack of depth on the bottom 6 will also hurt them. Rask should be back so it will also help their competition having a guy who chokes occasionally, in net. But that confidence is gone. Their big brother is no longer around. I'm surprised, actually, that Marchand isn't in hospital somewhere.
