We may laugh at this, but Byron has always been one of the keys to the Habs playing well. He moves us up notch in the speed department, but somehow his effect is more far reaching than that. Don't ask me why, but he seems to improve the team as a whole. At least he does from what I can see. A line with him and Lehky on it often wreaks havoc.

I have been calling for Ducharme to free Vejdemo and at least play him so the brass can properly assess him. Guess he gets in because of Dvorak being in concussion protocol. I would have replaced out Paquette with Vejdemo a while ago. And don’t get me started on Dom’s obsession with Larry Dolphin on the second line.
Nice to see Monty in as backup. Ducharme did confirm he will start this weekend. As much as I want as high a pick as possible in return for this miserable season, having a tandem of Primeau-McNiven for a few months would have been pretty unwatchable. I still want to see entertaining games like those three before the blowout in Minny.

It looks like, with the Willie_Dog eye test, Romanov is our best D man, hits, blocks shots, gets the puck on net, makes tape to tape passes... the Dom eye test says no... Because Dom

Maybe im too old school but I hate those lacrosse goals. What’s next?, someone loading the puck on their stick, and skating through the other team? Maybe that would encourage more laying of lumber. If someone scored that type of goal against my team I’d make it my mission to ensured that guy didn't leave the game without multiple serious bruises or a broken finger. Thats not hockey to me regardless of the skill level involved. I’ve hated it since the first time I saw it and nothing has happened to change my opinion.
I bet before long a guy uses that move in the shootout. Just places it over the goalie.

Bless em What surprises me are the comments from various pundits extolling Chiarot’s virtues and that he will easily fetch at least a first round pick. I don't get it myself but hey, if it works, I’m all in on that. |

I can't see him being a starting goalie in this league, let alone an elite one. At least we're able to assess him and make a decision one way or the other. I only see highlights so my sample size is not the same as most people here. But I thought he was lousy against the Wild and tonight I see 5 goals on 15 shots. He did have a strong game against the Avs but those efforts seem rare. The reality is he was picked at 199. How many guys that late amount to anything? |

This was the perfect game... the young guys scored some goals and they lost It was also fun to watch with an exciting 3rd and good news is we lost. Reality is that it really doesn't matter which of our forwards gets healthy as our d is so bad, and the goaltending ain't much better. The only person we're missing on D is Eddy and he ain't no game changer. As long as Petry continues to be putrid we got nothing except Romy and he still has some developing Chariot can be a decent #4 if you have a good #1, 2, & 3, which is why he might get us a good return from a contender. But on this team Chariot is of little impact. |
