Chipper pots an empty netter and Price picks up an assist with a great pass to set up Kyle. 5-2 Dogs, game over!!
P.S. - Locke scores on a 2 on 0 to make it 6-2!!!

Couple of ugly ones for the Dogs on this night. But they all count. We could see S. Kostitsyn for round two.

Nice. Who do the Dogs possibly face in round 2?

Either Grand Rapids (Detroit) or Manitoba (Vancouver).

Grand Rapids is leading the series 3-2 at this point. Anyway, congrats to the Dogs for the big game and series win. O'Byrne gets his first pro goal and it is a game and series winner. Albeit, it was an attempted pass that went in of an Amerk skate, so hardly one for the ages, but I am sure the big guy will take it. Nice also to see young Price settle down and get two big wins to finish off the series after a couple of shaky starts in a row.

Either Grand Rapids (Detroit) or Manitoba (Vancouver). Thanks chief. I'm hoping Manitoba completes a comeback. If they do I'll try to make my way to the MTS Centre for at least one game and perhaps provide a scouting report or at the very least some observations.

Manitoba forced game 7 for Tuesday night with a 2-1 win tonight. Whomever the Dogs play now will have gone the distance.

further proof that our prospects are better than they have been for a long time, this team could possibly go all the way, with a 19 year old goaltender at that. we also have a 21 year old goaltender at the world championships. now if only we can clear some of the dead wood veterans we've got we'll be fine.

now if only we can clear some of the dead wood veterans we've got we'll be fine. Samsonov, Bonk, Johnson, Murray, Downey, Aebisher, Niinima are gone. Kovalev is doing all he can to sabotage his career here, Koivu has put a lot of question marks in his return and Souray, Markov are UFAs. With as much as 11 veterans possibly not returning, the opportunity for a huge cleanup is certainly there...
