I was aware that Lafleur had not been in good health in recent times, but this news still just feels like a shock.
His playing days in the bleu blanc et rouge were coming to an end when I began following the Habs, but I saw he was a sublime talent and a legend of the Canadien.
There will never be another Guy Lafleur.

I'll echo what some of the replies to this tweet said - if you are going to do a tribute then do the person the courtesy of getting their name right. Jeez NHL, It's Lafleur. Is it so hard to look up? |

He was my idol growing up, my hero. Very sad day for the Canadiens family and the rest of the hockey world. I had the chance to meet the great Jean Belliveau, but never had the chance to meet Guy.
People I have talked to said he was a true gentleman off the ice. My thoughts go out to the Lafleur family.
p.s. - After watching all those great hi-lites, how many assists did Lemaire have on all those goals ? lol. What a line that was. Pressure never bothered them.

He was the reason I became a Habs fan. The skill, the charisma, the flowing hair as he streaked down the wing. I wanted to be like that....... Pulled my childhood jersey out of storage today. Thanks for the memories!
