I hear the name Gomez and see that trade tree and literally even after all these years it still feels like a nightmare.
If the Rangers beat Carolina Tuesday night, then I would imagine Montreal is getting New York's 'A' game in this one. The Rangers controlling their own destiny to win the division would be hard to beat, notwithstanding that Georgiev will almost certainly be in net.

I was driving home from work when this came over the car radio. At first I was in denial - no he didn't say McDonagh did he? No one could reply because I was alone in the car. Luckily I was on a quiet country road because I started to pound the crap out of my steering wheel.
Sather was the one trying to get rid of a bad contract but it seemed like Gainey was the one sweetening the pot.

The Craig River trade tree may historically be the best for the Habs, but that Gomez one is a nightmare.

I always thought Mr. Gainey was looking way ahead and seeing that all these deals would result in Prust becoming a Hab He wasn't wrong but we probably could have landed Prust without the machinations Bob thought out.

Bob was a great guy and a super defensive winger, but he's also a lesson that those characteristics don't transfer to managing people and processes. He was always an average GM at best (as are most).

Breaking news: Josh Anderson has joined the Mark Recchi Medical Clinic. that is so funny. I think he did something to his knee again... Could this be career ending, if he can't bend his knee properly or maintain a crouch, then could he be on LTIR for the remainder of his contract?

Price has a lot of miles on his knees and hips. And with the number of injuries he has sustained, one has to wonder if the nature of the problems is chronic and/or degenerative.
Clearly he is not walking away from $31 million USD, but a permanent parking place on LTIR seems increasingly likely at some point in the not so distant future.

Maybe that's what the last 4 starts have been for - to measure where he is at physically. He had the surgery last summer correct? If he's not ready to go by now then perhaps he is never going to be ready.
Tuuka Rask is only about 5-6 months older than Price. He had off season surgery, tried to come back and ended up retiring.
The way the position is played now is very hard on the lower body and just leads to the knee and hip problems. Guys that can play good hockey well into their 30s - like Fleury - are rare.

Wonder how motivated Rags will be to win this one. Their point total only matters for finishing ahead of TB for home game if they were to meet in the playoffs which likely wouldn't happen to the 3rd round. Will be interesting to see who is dressed for the Rags. Hope I'm wrong, but I could see Habs winning this one and jeopardize finishing last overall as I don't see Fla dressing a full squad Friday.

I've seen some Arizona highlights and they are playing better over the last week or so. They came back with a late goal to the Chicago before losing late in OT. They held Washington to one goal plus an empty better & kept all their big names of the score sheet.they game back from 3 down to the the Blues and of course last night's win. They have Dallas who need one point to get clear of Vegas and Nashville to finish out the season who are tied with Dallas at 95 points. Also, I don't know how much of a motivation it is but Kessel needs one goal for 400.

I'm watching the pre game and it looks like Kreider is not playing either along with Panarin, Copp or Shesterkin. No Fox or Trouba either. The Habs counter by putting Lagesson in the lineup.

Poehlng scores late - Habs lead 1-0 after one period.
Arizona is playing a motivated Dallas team tonight so Im not confident that they will get points.

Rangers tie it. Looks like Reaves'shot hits Dvorak on the way in.

Justin Braun - what a moron. He's standing at the half boards. His pass back to Kakko, if you can call it that, ends up right on the net. Georgiev has to cover.

As I watch Lafreniere and Kakko ( a number 1 and a number 2 overall respectively) I'm not so sure about this tanking thing.

Despite being outshot 20-10, the Habs are leading 2-1 after two. Petry scores his 1st goal in 19 games with just 9 seconds left as the Rangers just stand around in their own end and watch.

Rangers tie it. Looks like Reaves'shot hits Dvorak on the way in. I stopped watching. Kept looking for Lafreniere and all I saw was Reaves getting tons of ice time. I have no interest in watching Reaves unless he's putting a beatdown on Tom Wilson.

Coyotes trailing 3-0 and the Stars really need this one so I don't see a comeback coming.
