This would be a huge loss. Luke is a huge asset to the team on so many levels and I think will be a great head coach. Doesn't he already have a winning record in the playoffs as a head coach?
I'd say match any offer Hawks make but knowing Luke this isn't so much about $$$ but about fulfilling a dream. And Habs can't ask him to be patient as he will be head coach of the Habs soon. Marty ain't going anywhere soon. And then there is the language issue. All we can do is hope Hawks find someone they think is better. Go Trotz go!

Good for Richardson if Chicago determines that he is the best man for their job.
Yeah, that was one of the most absurd judgments ever -- blow off a Hab legend and Stanley Cup winning coach, Larry Robinson, in order to hire one's childhood pal, JJ Daigneault. Unfortunately, I think that given his age and lifestyle, I doubt Big Bird would now come behind the bench and embrace the grind of non-stop work for eight months.
If Richardson moves on, I wonder if St. Louis would be inclined to go for someone like Dan Girardi.

I know there have been lots of rumours about Saku playing some part of the Habs rebuild....perhaps he could slide into an assistant coach position to get his feet wet.
