I watched the red-white game today to wrap up the camp. It is summer hockey. It is a pond hockey scrimmage. I get all that, but it was blazing fast and fun. Lots of talent on display today reflective of the nice quality depth at camp this year (5 first rounders and 7 seconds).

The guys that stood out for in this fun game:

Sean Farrell - he has really developed. He was fast, skilled with the puck, and really stood out today.

Lane Hutson - what can you say? This kid is so dynamic with the puck. The best edgework out there. Top 10 talent in a 12 year old body. So fun to watch.

Simon Mešár - he is fast, great edges and skating, and quite talented with the puck. His shifty moves and dangles were fun to watch.

Emil Heineman - he is big and fast, and has some pretty decent hands. He scored an absolutely filthy goal on the shootout. Definitely a strong possibility as a nice two way third liner.

Honourable mention to Petteri Nurmi for his really smooth skating and a pretty good showing for all the goalies. Newbie Croteau actually looked very solid out there. The goalies are all huge too.

Bring on the WJC next up!
