First “tangible” information about the camp, as previously there was speculation that it would happen some time next week. I will post rosters and other details as they become available.
There have been reports of certain prospects arriving in Montreal already, but I imagine being a few days early to take in the draft buzz would be fun for all involved.
After COVID cancelations of this and other regular events, nice to see them back again.

A teammate of Roy with Sherbrooke. The big 2003 born LW is in his third year with the Phoenix.

Kid from Lunenburg. He has decent size and put up good numbers as a RHD. Penticton also won the BCHL championships, so he is coming off a winning season. Seems like a very interesting invite. He will return to the Vees next season and head to U Maine in 2023-24.
With his name, how did the Oilers not invite him to their camp? 😆

A big LW from Sherbrooke who put up over a ppg this season. A 2002 born who is off to U Mass-Lowell in the fall. His dad is an assistant coach with the 3R Lions and he is Manon’s nephew.

This is quite an exciting and deep group of young players gathered in Brossard. With COVID, the last two camps in 2020 and 2021 did not happen so this really is the first time to bring together three draft classes to Montreal to meet with the team: 2020, 2021, and 2022. In addition, the three promising young players picked up in trades at the trade deadline will all be there as well: Barron, Heineman and Smilanic. Other than the three Russians (VISA or other logistical challenges?) and Myšák (due to the Czechia WJC camp), it will be three full draft classes present. It is too bad Guhle (unknown) and Mailloux (rehab from shoulder surgery) are not able to participate on ice, but they are still there to be at the rest of the sessions and be around their fellow prospects. In normal years there are only a couple of high profile guys that fans are excited to catch a glimpse of, but this year will be a cornucopia of talent.
Apart from the guys specifically mentioned, all other European based prospects have been able to get to Montreal for camp: Dichow, Kapanen, Engström, and Nurmi (of course Slafkovsky and Mešár have stuck around after the draft). The development camp is also the only time that you generally see the NCAA based prospects as the NCAA eligibility rules are very strict on attendance at pro camps and kids and their families have to cover their own costs to attend.
On ice stuff happens on Monday to Wednesday so I am sure there will be reports on how guys look and likely some interviews to pass on. Today kicks off with testing and off ice stuff.

I believe the NCAA guys can be here 2 days if longer they have to pay their own way From a flyers article www.nhl.com/flyers/news/meltzers-411-about-the-college-kids/c-308262592So funny, the NCAA and the school make a bundle off these kids and they cant keep a jersey...

As per my post in the Laval Rocket thread, recently signed Ryan Francis (AHL deal) will be at development camp too. Hot off a Memorial Cup championship.
Fun Fact: Habs now have at least one participant at camp from each of the four teams that were at the Memorial Cup recently. Edmonton (Guhle), Hamilton (Xhekaj), Shawinigan (Dubé), and Saint John (Francis).

Et le but. Would love to see how he would do against the big beef boys like Guhle and Xhekaj but they are both being held off the ice due to injury.

And Fairbrother hobbled to the room favouring his right leg earlier. Struble and Fairbrother cannot stay healthy it would seem. Defenders dropping like flies in camp though. 😞

Mesar is smaller then I thought, Slaf is going to need a lighthouse so people don't crash into him. If he's 229 at 18, he's going to be 250-260 by early/mid 20s. That's the biggest forward we ever had. Maybe the biggest player ever (including Komi).

The new development regime is alive and well, and totally refreshing. HuGo and the Adam Nicholas hire is huge. MSL wants players that can react and play the small game with instinct. They are actually practicing that at camp, and all the cool skating and skills stuff that Adam is integrating into the sessions.
They are building a more fun team. Safeisdeath may be finally over. I don’t mind sucking next season as the kids learn if the path is clear and all the actions by HuGo actually fit into a real plan. Long overdue is the biggest understatement around.

I expect they get him in the OHL with Kitchener for next season to get loads of ice time and responsibilities (he was mainly third line in Slovak top league last two seasons). Fans should be excited by his upside.
