I put this article here as it is regarding player development

I found it very interesting how therrien claims he didn't have much to work with

This has been argued relentlessly regarding the coaching styles of Therrien/Julien and their tendency to go with vets who make the same mistakes as the kids instead of teaching the kids not to make them anymore with positive reinforcement as opposed to the constant benchings etc. Must have been a bitch watching vets do what they just did from the pines, Or playing out of the position that you expected to be drafted for (hi alex ya your career didnt go far but i think you got screwed)

figured some of us would find this interesting twist on the subject.

Why didn't he just reach into his Bag of Controversial Approaches and work wonders with the younger players--as he recently claimed to have done with Subban.

Talent level of players doesn't matter re: Therrien. He lost the Pens' room during a Stanley Cup Championship season, after going to the previous Finals. Bylsma came in...boom.

There's a reason this stiff has been fired as a head coach three times. He has absolutely no man management skill. His motivational technique is yelling at people. Ask Terry Ryan, Daniel Briere, Andrew Shaw, PK Subban - I could go on. Sounds like it was everyone's fault except his own. When he had players to work with in Pittsburgh, he screwed that up too. Why dont these "journalists" ask him about that.

There are a lot of Bergevin apologists still living in their fantasy worlds. Therrien is an extension of that.
