Mailloux signed to 3 year ELC

There is no previous player thread on him, so I figured I should at least get this news out there.

He definitely needs to stay healthy and get lots of games in with London this season as his games played has been tiny over the last few seasons.

From the hockey side of things, between the pandemic, the suspension, and the injuries, Mailloux's development has been severely curtailed. Though, of course, there is no denying the size and talent are there to become an NHLer.

From the life side of things, since he was drafted by Montreal the kid seems to be willing to learn from his mistake and act in accordance with the standards the organization set for him.

I hope Mailloux gets healthy and plays at least 40 games at a high level for London. If this happens, he could be a very exciting addition to the Rocket in 2023-24.

Why are we wasting a contract spot if he's in the same boat as Mitch Miller? The NHL will likely keep him out just to avoid the bad press

I don't get this... retroactive? It would be nice if the nhl was as woke when it comes to the players who had their asses covered by hockey Canada's payoff fund.

Bettman's a lawyer and his mind completely revolves around liability and optics. It's too bad his brain shuts off when Colon Campbell talks to him.

Looks like Quennville wants to get re-instated... if they re-instate him then they have no leg to stand in to keep Mailloux from playing in the NHL unless it's to screw the Habs.

That was the same day Chicago finished off a four-game sweep of San Jose to reach the Stanley Cup Final, and Beach told TSN that based on what others involved have said he believes that Quenneville thought "trying to win a Stanley Cup was more important than sexual assault."

Quenneville, who served as head coach of the Blackhawks from 2008 to 2018 before being hired by Florida in 2019, said in July 2021 that he'd "first learned of these allegations through the media earlier this summer" in a statement provided by the Panthers to the Associated Press.

I doubt he'll remain on any black list for much longer. In any case, the contract makes it easier to trade him, if needed, so good planning prior to the draft. This management team prepares well.

Logan to meet with Bettman after playoffs. Since Mailloux will most likely be with Laval, he could get called up because of injury.

If Bowman and Quenville are allowed back, Mailloux cannot be denied...

Yeah, I cannot foresee the NHL blocking Mailloux. His case was never similar to Mitch Miller's.

Another condiment in all this is that the NHL probably does not want to get sued.
