Hens are bringing up guys from their AHL club... I assume they will be baboons... Xhekaj is now officially living rent free in the Sens’ heads, and that includes coach DJ Smith who opts to bring up goons from Belleville for their last preseason game.

Ottawa should have a nice team this season. However, I believe skimping on coaching will bite them in the backside. DJ Smith is a weak link. His teams never play with the structure and intelligence necessary to beat teams who know what winning is all about.
Out of that motley crew, Sabourin is the only one who is sort of like a heavyweight. To his credit, he has fought Lucic and Reaves, though he got absolutely rag dolled in the process. Xhekaj already took the measure of Kastelic and Watson who on their best day are nothing more than average middleweights.
Dach needs to keep his head up. He has taken some physical abuse in the preseason.

This is the only way I'll find out about the game (short of going to NHL.com) ... I'm curious about Ottawa's call-ups ... I'm not sure if any one of Kastelic-Watson-Sabourin can make the Senators (and stick), or if they've been called up for a Hanson Brothers routine ...
Cheers.

The Habs have called up

Guess DJ wants to send a message to the Habs and the league not to mess with their soft players. Given it's a nothing game, he's got nothing to lose. But does he really think that X or any other tough guy is going to tone it down because some AHLers played tough guys in an exhibition game? Hard to believe so many of these coaches are still in the neanderthal era. Speaking of which, where is the Walrus?

And if X et al. beat the Hens tough guys what does DJ do then?

I am not sure why Smith is uber-focused on perceived disrespect in the preseason. He should be focused (nervous) about wins and losses when the games count. Because I have a feeling if the Sens get off to a lackluster start in the standings, Smith will be summarily fired.

Because I have a feeling if the Sens get off to a lackluster start in the standings, Smith will be summarily fired. No excuses left. He's got two very good top lines and some decent support. Goal and D are not set completely, but the future is now for DJ Smith and the rebuild is complete. Results are required.

Wow, not impressed with Ottawa's so called tough guys. The guy they go after is Pitlick. Really?

Didn't get to watch it....again. Any observations? Who stood out, who didn't. Will this game affect who gets cut Monday? Enquiring minds want to know.
