I was texting with a buddy, a Vancouver Canuck fan over who would get fired first, Boudreau or Keefe. GM's always like their own coach and Boudreau wasn't Rutherford's choice. OTOH, Keefe has had a long runway without success and a slow start may not be acceptable to Dubas as it's his own neck on the line now. Losing to Montreal and Arizona is not exactly the way they wanted to start.

Don't look down on the yotes... they're like us... I fully expect us to be fighting it out with the Yotes for the bottom spot, likely with Chicago. But Yotes ain't like us. Their roster is very weak with no budding superstars like Nick and Cole, and basically a bunch of plugs. I know, I know - we have Drouin, Hoffman, and Savard but still. And did I mention we're at home where the kids are undefeated! Roar of the crowd baby! |

Xhekaj just manhandled Zach Kassian. Kassian had to go to the dressing room. Arber didn't do the standard circle and wait, he went straight at him and literally beat the crap out of him. Mike Johnson was in awe.

I love what Xhejak brings. Havent had someone like him for quite a while.
Loved the ragdolling part. Not good for morale when the toughest guy on the team gets steamrolled like that.

What a laser beam by Slafkovsky to get his first ....then he tells Brown to F O , because he hit him high before the goal ....not sure I liked the me me me celly, but I think he was miffed at the hit not being a penalty

Wow, no surprise of course, but there are some terrible refs in the NHL. That scrub Coyote forward clumsily lost balance on his own skates and they call the penalty on Guhle.

I predict Slaf will cringe as an old man when he looks back on his first goal celebration, but it was a poetic goal. Brown's hit was high so justice was ultimately served. And I'm sure that he felt Axe's hit.
As for Suzuki, that was a silky finish. It will get air time on the plays of the week, so he may not be able to use that shootout move anymore. The whole league will see it.
