Thanks for the link, man. I had not heard about these. I really did not care for the previous blue reverse retro. This one looks better, but trying to establish an actual Habs connection to light blue seems a stretch.

Not sure what the point of the Expos powder blues but I guess itβs ok.
Love the Sharks nod to the original California Golden Seals uni.

I dont get the light blue either but it is better than the last effort.
My favorite is the Sharks. Maybe they will don white skates like the original Seals.π

But I'm now questioning have PRICE on the back. These ones, the team have said are an homage to the Expos. I loved the Expos. They were my favourite professional sports team. I stopped following baseball when they folded. But these jerseys? They are ugly. They could have picked way better Expo jerseys to base the retro on.

I like the idea of an Expos themed jersey, but this one just isn't "Expos" enough to make it work. It's basically just a baby blue version of the Habs jersey.

It will probably look good in person but not so much now. To pay homage to the Expos they could have used the red/white stripe down the shoulders and the Expo style lettering and numbers on the back. Just to make them baby blue is not putting much thought into it.

Just to make them baby blue is not putting much thought into it. I was hoping they'd replace the h with the expos logo and hybridize the 2 logos

This is all marketing and gimmicking. The jersey can be whatever they want as many of the other teams' are. They sit around a table and throw out ideas that have some link to Mtl. Others in consideration were a) a river running across the front of the jersey with "St.L" on it; and b) a mountain with a cross on it.
And we're suppose to be surprised the salary cap may be going up. Between the logos on the jerseys and the retros, which seem to come out every 2-3 years now, I'm getting a little cynical. Have to laugh when I see both Vegas and Seattle have retro jerseys: seriously. Sure it's a business and Molson and the players want their Jake but I'm not interested. I want a product on the ice!

I know it isn't Canadiens history, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Montreal Maroons jersey.

I still say BRING BACK THE HOME WHITES! if i remember correctly the league has switched back and forth on the home jersey a few times now i seem to remember the red being the home jersey back in the 70's hence the reason why i prefer it as a home jersey .. childhood memeories i guess.
