Minnesota is not off to a great start this season. The Wild's goalie play has been atrocious. And considering the coach, the main d-men, and the top six remain the same, Billy Guerin is probably annoyed by the lack of consistent commitment to team defense.
In terms of creating and cashing in offensive chances, their big guns are delivering.
Montreal needs smart, focused hockey to complete the homestand. The Habs, unfortunately, are not a high-scoring team. The power play is still terrible. And most of the guys who should be providing secondary scoring at even strength are producing little or nothing.

Our PK needs to be better than it was against tge Stars or tge goalies will get hammered... I assume the reffing will be the same against the wild as it was against Dallas

Short sample size, but the last few games Dach has been playing like the player Hawks were happy to get rid of. And Drouin's been on his wing - coincidence? No doubt he's got size and can move but haven't seen a whole lot of pretty plays and he is prone to make some bonehead plays.
But don't miss Romanov as Wifi has more than replaced Romy.

If any of the following black holed play with any player, that player fails to meet expectations Drouin, Hoffman, Dadonov, Armia He has been doing fine with Monahan...

Great photo of Knuckles and Xhekaj.
Montreal is extremely dependent on the first line producing. The secondary scoring is just not there.

Rough 1st period for Xhekaj probably his worst as a Hab...That's ok though. Growing pains. And MSL kept sending him out there which is always a good sign with this team and where they are in the rebuild. Quiet all around though. When Dadanov leads the team in shots, that's not good.

The boys are getting some pucks deep but there is just no puck movement through the home plate area. Fleury is off to a bad start this season but he has not been busy thus far tonight.

I know Caufield has a quick release, but man if that puck was not tipped then Fleury just let in a total softy.

Man that PP is atrocious. 1 for 20 now to start the season. Could we please stop that skate up the middle and drop pass to Suzuki with speed to gain entry? It practically never works. Then when the 1st unit does get possession, everything is set up to pass to Cole. While I understand the thought, this is no different then the Weber love for 4-5 seasons where everyone knew what we were trying to do. There is enough skill out there with Suzuki and Monahan. And i know we don't have a howitzer at the point but that's ok. I would try Harris out there. While not a true 1st PP dman, he can skate and handle the puck and it's a small sample size but he gets his shots through which is a skill.

That is a bogus penalty. Foligno took a bad angle on purpose just so he could run into Wideman and trick the ref into a make believe interference call.

Ugh, Kovacevic threw a pizza across the middle and the Wild feast on the quick counterattack. When your forwards are only half way through a line change, a d-man has to be smarter in the neutral zone.
The game is getting a little chippy. I think Guerin called out his team a couple days ago and said he was not seeing any identity.
Hartman must have been a thespian at his high school. That acting job was pathic and even more pathetic the ref bought it. Hartman would not want to drop with Xhekaj.

Hoffman does the same thing in shootouts. No one was fooled. I said out loud here what he was going to do before he even took it. If I know, you can be sure MIN knows.
Can they choose anyone who was on the ice? The whole world knew Hoffman would pooch it

I was in disbelief watching X and his misplays in the first. I was thinking we may be seeing the real thing and the past 2 weeks was simply a magic carpet ride. But Marty kept playing him and he had a decent 2nd and 3rd. So there is still hope. If MT or CJ had been behind the bench X would have been stapled to the bench and sent to Laval tomorrow.
