It is surprising that this team is 5-4 with a defense corps consisting of two bottom-pair caliber vets and 4 rookies. Credit to St. Louis and staff for getting the most of them. I'd imagine that there will be a drop-off, after the initial adrenaline rush wears off and the grind sets in for the rookies. The return of Matheson and Edmundson should mitigate that to some extent, giving the coaching staff options to shelter the younger players as needed.
