Arber Xhekaj's goal is his 3rd of the season. Ties him for 19th on the Habs all-time goals by a rookie defenseman with Bill Nyrop Francis Bouillion Sylvia's Lefevbre Alexei Emelin Raphael Diaz Kent Carlson Mike Lalor Gilbert Delorme Dollard St. Laurent Wow, haven't see most of those names in a long time

Anderson with an over the glass penalty . Game not over yet
Anderson could have went left for an odd man rush with the goalie pulled ....

I really want them to lose but I hate that stupid cannon in Columbus so everytime we win there I am happy

It is nice to beat Columbus. For whatever reasons, it seems they almost always beat the Habs in recent years.
The boys dug deep there. Montembeault stood tall when things were tough with multiple breakaways. The d-men blocked a lot of shots.

Is Montembeault developing into a really solid backup all of a sudden? If he keeps up this play he’ll be starting every other game soon enough.

We slam Mr. Tugboat and he gets lucky and it goes in off his skate I like that but deceiving. I'm not sure he's that fast.

I do not discount that Matheson may be rusty out there, but man there is literally nothing to like about how he operates in his own end through three games. The quick fight back goal was important. The Sherriff has a heavy, deceptive wrister. Yup. It makes him a pretty good candidate to play at the blueline on the PP. He also is adept at getting it through. His wrist shot is really deceptive as you noted.

But I prefer "Sly" because how else can you explain hanging on to a job for 6 years when the playoffs are only a dream.

Monty looking good. Who knows?
I've been slagging Maths for a week now with his poor play in our end, and sure enough the sloppiest of all tonight. He is a 'poor man's Petry': a good skater but not as good as Petry, but equally low IQ for the game and dreadful in his own zone.
The X-factor on full display tonight. Big goal but equally big play at both ends. It is clear that tonight's 3rd pairing was much stronger than last night's. No doubt Wideman is a big factor in that, but Harris has been struggling even without Wideman as his partner.

Habs have 59 goals this year Suzuki + Caufield = 23 goals Defense = 7 goals Everyone else = 29 goals #secondaryscoring?? Armia played a decent game but I do question Marty's decision to drop Slafs back to the 4th line after just one game in which everyone stunk out the joint. We need secondary scoring and we ain't going to get it from Armia. Slafs may provide some but not on the 4th line with the slugs. And what are we dong to Slafs confidence to jack him around like that. If he was good enough to move him from the 4th line then give him a chance. One game when no one showed up is not a chance. I feel like Marty is taking one from the 3M (three morons: MT, CJ, Douche) playbook by expecting immediate results from a kid or sit.

That one is cute. Maybe we can send it to Lefebvre? I can think of several completely inappropriate jokes that tie in nicely (see, it's like I can't help myself), but will refrain because I have such marvelous discipline.
