Who's been playing LW on that line?
Man we have some wasted positions out there. There's no place on this team for Pitlick, Hoffman, Armia, Pezzetta, Wideman, Anderson (my pet peeve), or Dadanov. We could debate some others but that's 8 players who are dressed but can be improved upon. That's a lot!

Keep going Josh. You're number 1 (trade bait) with a bullet.

I have little problem with Pezzetta andWideman as long as they are left on the 4th line/ bottom pairing. Anderson can score so I'm inclined to keep him. The rest ' meh.

Calgary is working hard, but something about their demeanor out there they look like a paper tiger compared to last season. They are lucky that, tonight, Markstrom rolled back the clock and is playing like he did before the page turned to 2022.

It is tough without Caufield in there. But, man, the Suzuki line is just not threatening whatsoever now. Dach is playing well below his normal level this season. Hoffman is skating but totally out of sync with his mates.

Ya, things are going to get pretty ugly without their top guy.
Hoffman is no substitute. He's lazy and mistake prone and tied to the Habs for another 2 years.

God Armia is a sad case

Only this team would not be able to cash that in. Suzuki is the only threat

Raise your hand if you thought Armia was going to score ... yeah I figured, me neither.
They were too busy trying to get the perfect pass. Just shoot and crash. It's not rocket science
They'll lose now, no Caufield, so no one else who can score on a shootout ....Allen will have to save everything, ...hahahahaha

For sure, it is normally hard to blow 90 seconds of 5 on 3 and four minutes of 4 on 3. But this group is challenged.

I wonder if a team has ever blown a 4 minute PP in overtime before. Seems awfully hard to do.

Good for Jake Allen having a night in front of the home fans.
I hope Caufield is okay and they worked from the premise that an overabundance of caution is wise.
The Habs power play was off the charts inept tonight. The number of minutes wasted at 5 on 3 and 4 on 3 should lead to some serious questioning about what the core concepts are on the power play and/or why the guys put on the ice cannot execute.
The blueliners were good tonight. A young group with active sticks and a willingness to block shots.

They should start a search for a PP specialist because clearly Burrows is as inept as the rest of the clowns that preceded him.
The various coaching staffs have been out of ideas for years. Time for new ideas and a fresh face. Its beyond embarrassing now.

And once the injury took Caufield out of the equation for the PP tonight, it looked even more clueless. Good for padding pass completion stats I guess.

Nothing will happen mid-season, but there is not much of a basis for keeping Burrows employed moving into 2023-24. Even before tonight's extensive 5 on 3 and 4 on 3 debacles while missing Caufield, the Habs power play was 30th in the league.
