Wow, Koivu at the World Juniors. Time flies.
Well, this game is the equivalent to being in the playoffs for the Sens. The boys better be ready for not only plenty of physicality but likely also some nastiness.
Considering I did not grow up seeing Ottawa as a rival and the Sens have been absolute garbage for 6-7 years, I am not sure why I dislike them.

I live in Ottawa and I hate them because they have band-wagon fans... Mouthy when their team is playing well and church mice when they suck... Whereas Habs and Leaf fans are mouthy all the time.

Sens are pretty beaten up, so the boys should have an edge here. Especially with their secret weapon back tonight as 4C.

Not that DJ Smith seems like the sharpest tool in the drawer, but having the last change to get his first line out there against the second or fourth line of the Habs could confer an advantage to the Sens.
I am a little surprised Montembeault is starting tonight. I thought the vet might do the heavier lifting and the backup takes on the epically horrible Ducks.

Drouin on the fourth line is pretty useless. That’s not his game. That’s setting him up for failure. It’s just as well he didn’t play

Delayed penalty. Montreal plays keep away for 45 secs to get a shift change. All guys set up, attack the blue line and pass it to Hoffman, who plays it weaka**ed. All that work for nothing

It sure seems we lose possession a lot after Mr. Hoffman touches the puck.

What is this constant backhand it lightly to the blueline Montreal does. It has to be by design, because they do it every power play . Someone needs to put an end to it, because it is not working

Josh Anderson is by far the worse passer on the team. He doesn’t even look , just whizzes it to a spot

It wasn't that long ago that Montreal was scoring short handed goals and applying constant pressure on the PK ... now we watch the other team pass and shoot at will. What happened?

Hard to make a save Monty when you are facing toward the net , not the shooter

Train-wreck game so far.
EDIT: Not that I think Marty should've called for a review...but...Batherson was in the crease and his skate was touching Monty's skate, arguably preventing any pad stretch to recover....
I've seen less reviewed.

Are we now the 30th most-penalized team?
3-0.
Ducks will likely beat us tomorrow.
Rebuilds are ugly at times.

Some Sens' nutbar will go after Guhle for that shot into the bench, injuring the equipment manager/trainer.

And I was ticked when I got home & found that the game wasn't on any of my channels. Caught a break I guess.

This game is the season turning point for me. I thought we could make the playoffs, now I'm flipping. We are likely going to finish last in our division now.
If we showed some fight in this game and won, we'd be in fourth in the division, 3 points out of a playoff spot with a game in hand
Lose and we are 2 points out of last
It's getting that tight in the standings

3 lines of deadweight (less Slaf)... Hard to win with that...
