A Drouin giveaway on the PP leads to a good shorthanded chance for TB. Get him off the point please,

Here’s a question. How many goals does Drouin have to give up as the top of the key guy on the PP, before they call it a failed experiment?

I was going to mention that. Is there any team that lets in the first shot more often. Last year, it was Monty. I was watching a game the other night. (Washington vs Chicago I think) and they said Chicago has given up the most goals on the first shot (6) * I believe that was the game and team* If they were counting on NHL stats it’s wrong. I’m

Wow. What a weak call. It was a shove. Not a crosscheck.

I thought Stamkos might've been going off for pushing a vulnerable player into the boards.
Nope...Anderson for a shove weak by comparison.

Caufield and Suzuki have been stifled. Nothing doing, even on the PP.

Caufield and Suzuki have been stifled. Nothing doing, even on the PP. Suzuki is lacking something. Perhaps it's the Henri Richard/Yvan Cournoyer emotion/drive. Highly-skilled with a peaceful demeanor. Captains should LEAD by example. Even Beliveau played in the trenches. Koivu, certainly. Suzuki seems to avoid that stuff. Is my perception incorrect?

Three some truth to that CH. I don't see a lot of that in his game.

Kuvcherov is such a dick. The whistle blows and as Suzuki skates away he takea a whack at him. Someone needs to punch Ducherov

Guhle with a nice play. Picks off a pass at the line and feeds Suzuki. 4-1.

The boys actually had a lot of pace and chances. But they could not get it done. So once again Montreal is chasing a game, which is a deadly proposition against an elite opponent. Harris must have thought he would have help from the high forward on the first goal. But that was sleepy miscalculation. Maroon is trying to get Tampa offer him another contract by 'stepping up' to respond to a nice hit by Xhekaj. It was a good hit and Marron never even bothered to throw (let alone land) a punch so it was just sort of silly. Just watched the fight and could Garry Galley suck any more Tampa ass... talking about Maroon being so smart... Moron held on for dear life and was afraid wifi was going to pummel him...

This month is shaping up as a death march. The boys are reeling. It is impossible for a team with so many rookies and young kids to play from behind every night.
I do not see the vibe getting overly negative because St. Louis is a wise, positive leader. But considering how this whole season is going south pretty quick, I go back to the decision to keep Slafkovsky with the Habs instead of letting him cut loose with his Slovak mates and frankly I see it turning out to be a bad call. The road trip is going to be tough, lots of losses. And in reality the kid was only going to miss out on like three weeks of NHL action.

Totally agree on Slafkovsky and the WJC & I was surprised when I heard. It might hElp his development to get away for a while and play some competitive games.

Folatre, you are a wise man and I almost always agree with wise people because to do otherwise is not smart. I’m not sure wins and losses are playing into the equation. Because HuGo are determined that this is a development year my guess is they’re more concerned about who is developing Slafkovsky and less about the competitive environment around him. That’s just a guess but it’s a complicated decision and there’s no simple answer. One might as well flip a coin.

I saw a story where they showed Marie-Philip Poulin was on the ice at practice working Slaf and in the video it showed her showing him how to get away from a defender when near the boards.. in the game he did the same move (spining move) and got away from the defender and made a pass to Anderson for a goal Half way down the article are the videos www.habseyesontheprize.com/prospects/2022/12/13/23505575/marie-philip-poulin-skills-coaching-montreal-canadiens-development-adam-nicholas-juraj-slafkovsky

So does Drouin get pumped for these games to prove to TB that they made a mistake when they traded him? I was joking when I posted this. But Drouin was actually pumped for his former team. Don't know if I've seen him chase down pucks and mix it up like that before. Sadly, he still can't handle the puck. How much longer can they keep him QBing the PP? I suspect they were doing that so he could get some points and increase his trade value. Well, if that was the strategy, it has backfired as he looks like a nervous rookie out there.
