Two things: - One: Between Houle and Bergevin, Houle was the worst GM. Houle lost so many trades and by a lot. Look up the worst trades in Habs history and Burger Brain doesn't come close. Where Bargain Bin-Bergy-did fail was his free agents signing, including his own (excluding Pacioretty, that was a great sgining). Radulov was a great 1 year signing and then a failure. He failed at resigning Markov and failed with so many others. Semin, Alzner, Hoffman etc. - Two: Markov deserves his day just as much as PK. PK was great, I loved him when he was here. He has a higher peak with the Norris and all-star team. But not only was Markov great, Markov made his teammates better. Souray, Streit, Komisarek, Rivet all had career years when partnered with Markov. Because of Markov, all those guys got their big contracts, which they wouldn't have had without Markov (at least not as much). Our powerplay was effective and feared because we had a quarterback setting Souray, Streit, MA Bergeron, Mathieu Schneider and Kovalev for one timers. You didn't call him the general for nothing. Different personality, he was a quiet as opposed to PK's flamboyance. He was a team guy. And he became a Canadian citizen to boot. And almost a 1000 games with the Habs. Should have been 1000 + , but because Bergy Boob, well... I'm not placing Markov above PK, I place him on the same level. Plus isn't he the second or third highest scoring D in Habs history. That demands Respect. Capital R. Hear, hear. (about Markov and PK) I'll disagree about Houle and Bergie, but I see your point.

It's not like they're retiring his jersey or anything. Just a ceremony to recognize his contributions. Not sure why there's cause for debate over that. Norris trophy, $10 Million raised for Montreal children's hospital. That merits recognition in my mind. Add to that, he scored some of the most electrifying playoff goals in recent memory. While some of the Habs' best players were earning reputations for vanishing in the playoffs, Subban was stepping up with big goals. youtu.be/xjJ7FheCkCUyoutu.be/Tj8fzzq2YAYyoutu.be/2m44ZJLaiD0
