I wonder who is injured? Or is he getting the call up to see how he plays because, Edmunson may be on the move?

Only 6 healthy D and the Habs are on the road.

So is Barron among the six healthy d-men or is he the seventh healthy d-man for the road trip?
I liked the way Barron played last spring. Maybe he put too much pressure on himself during camp, which ended up accentuating his weaknesses rather than playing to his strengths.

Let's hope he adjusts and he gives HuGo some options to move some vets

Talking heads are saying he's being brought up to address the PP. I'm Ok with that as I thought going into the season that Barron was our best offensive dman prospect. No doubt at this point that Guhle is way ahead. Which begs the question, why can't Marty give Guhle a chance in the 1sr PP?

Or Wifi for that matter. Barron has 16 points in 25 games in Laval. But he had zero points in his first 5 games. So one could rationalize, if one was a glass half full guy, that he has scored 16 points in his last 20 games, which is pretty good, AHL wise for a defenseman. Another guy who is doing quite well on the back line in Laval is Nicolas Beaudin, with 12 points in 14 games (and +8) with the Rocket. He was Chicago's first round pick at #27 (barren territory) in 2018....you know....that weak draft (it truly was). Habs got him in a trade for Cam Hillis, who has 16 points in 20 games for the (cough) Indy Fuel of the ECHL. Not a blockbuster by any means, but it has been a win so far. Beaudin is 5' 11", but only 168 lbs. so kind of tough to play defense in the NHL unless you're Lane Hutson .

I posted a nice chart in the Laval Rocket thread that shows how well both Barron and Beaudin have been generating offence versus their other U24 peers in the AHL.

I wonder if Barron gets a chance on the power play? St.Louis has been reluctant to play any of the young guys on the PP so far
He’s got a lot of tools: zone entries, shot, puck movement etc

I feel for Gallagher. On top of the huge drop in production and the unmovable contract he now has a significant injury history.
The guy used to be the spark plug, now he's just an anchor.

On a personal level it’s I’m sad for him. He gave habs all he got. Unfortunately he seems like a guy destined to be on LTIR by the time habs need that cap space..sorta bitter sweet I guess

Five rookie dmen in the line-up. I've been saying that 4 rookie dmen must be a record as I don't recall that ever happening for any franchise. But 5? The Habs future is here.

He’s had a run of bad luck trying to adapt to a less physical style where he shouldn’t get injured as often. We can tolerate his contract if he’s getting 40-50 points per year and playing 70 + games.
