Please, no three point game.
I would imagine Florida has the edge on home ice against the Habs trying to dig deep in a back to back.

As long as Armia, Hoffman and Droopy get PP time the losing streak will live

Yeah, for sure. And what the heck was that final power play against Tampa? Evans in the slot, Dvorak on the half wall passing the puck to Lightning players. My eyes still hurt.

The definition of cognitive dissonance is taking a line of Caufield and Suzuki and adding Armia to it. MSL probably has a reason (getting that first goal monkey off Armia's back), but man, what a way to kill a line.
On the bright side, we now have the 7th and 10 picks in the draft.

To continue in that vein....we know MSL has real skill in handling players, instilling confidence and all the touchy feely things that come with coaching. Another test is the game management part which is very uncertain at the moment because of this uneven balance being swung between winning and development. MSL is focusing on development and in a year where winning is not as important and perhaps even preferred, that is not an issue. From my viewpoint, that pendulum has to swing back next year. There will still be some emphasis on development as we will still have a large number of young players on the team, but we have to start winning a bit more to develop that part of the persona of the team. How will he be at matching lines, developing game strategy for different opponents, play design, PP and PK construction, zone exits and entries and whatever else is involved once the puck drops? His abilities in those areas will be tested and hopefully he passes with honours.

What does development have to do with putting Armia with Suze and Cole? What does development have to do with putting Slafs with a bunch of slugs?

You got to feel for Slafkovsky. He has already played with 11 different linemates on at least 10 different line combos and the season isn’t even half over

Man, the fact that Montreal even has three points on this road trip thus far is a miracle. The Habs have been thoroughly outplayed in each and every game.

Now I can post it Arber Xhekaj's goal is his 5th of the season. Ties him for 15th on the Habs rookie defenseman goal scoring list with Frank Eddolls - 1944-45 Glen Harmon - 1942-43 Scratch that. They gave the goal to Dvorak.

Thankfully the Panthers do not play the Habs eight times per season or else they might scrape together enough points to avoid a bottom 10-12 finish.

The Habs second power play unit actually looks like they can actually move the puck quickly, pepper the goalie with shots, and get tips and rebounds. Who knew.

Someone needs to call Search and Rescue to find Nick Suzuki. He has been invisible for 5 games now, and a big reason why the PP has sucked

If they were intent in winning, they’d be doing none of that. They’re putting vets into positions to succeed. Those vets have blown those opportunities of course. Anderson is actually being productive lately and that will help his trade value. He won’t be a Hab past the TDL and while he drives me nuts, if he goes on a scoring streak to make me look foolish, i will applaud it. Gotta beat Florida Have to deflate their confidence so they screw up the rest of the year. As to the PP, think MSL appreciates having WiFi run the point? That heavy wrist shot opens the box.

Sigh. Just not good enough. Drouin can’t wait to get rid of the puck. Where has the confidence to hold onto it, draw guys, pass to an open man, gone? He gets the puck now and can’t wait to get rid of it.

I am not quite sure what Slafkovsky has learned on the trail of tears road trip. Three weeks away from the NHL would not have hurt him.
I hope Guhle did not get injured seriously from the Barkov bear hug twisting his legs awkwardly.
Memo to St. Louis: Xhekaj and Pezzetta should always be in the lineup. Florida is running around puffing out their chests winning a game (something they rarely do) and the Habs should always have at least two guys are not afraid to lay the lumber on one of the opposition's stylish guys.
