Great GDT as always, Dis...
I've never seen a postcard in my travels.
Who manufactured/distributed them?

Thanks, fellas ... I don't know who issues the modern-day postcards, but the vintage black and white cards were issued by "National Sports Limited" (NSL) ... I only know that because I found an old order form (PDF) during a search, and it indicated NSL ... there were colour postcards issued from the 70s to present day, but not sure if it's been the same company all the way through ... having said that, I have some from 1970-71, but really started to collect them when we lived in Charlottetown (84-86) ... started in Patrick Roy's rookie year, and kept buying them annually until a few years before the 100th Anniversary ... ordering the postcards and the media guides was an annual thing, at one time ... Cheers.

Cheers. I had that very 'deck' when I was a kid. Got them at the Forum. As I recall you could buy them separately or by the pack. Sadly, don't know where they are now. Probably in the same place as the green dollar bill I had autographed by Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito and Ken Hodge in red ink. The latter would have been worth a lot now given the dollar bill is no longer in print.

Just read on TSN that Gallagher is out tonight with a LBI.
His inability to stay healthy is just one more thing that makes him so difficult to trade.

Maybe they want to throw on the bus Laffy and a 2nd for our Florida 1st? We'll also give them an easy two points.

And to think that two years ago he was the unquestioned warrior on the team. Yup. And the thing is this was completely predictable due to Gallagher's small size, style of play & increasing injury problems. MB was just too dumb to see it coming. Cheers

The will to compete is there. That much is undeniable. However, Gallagher's body is breaking down. This is the fourth straight season where he is missing at least a quarter of the games. Time will say, but it seems increasingly likely Gallagher ends up spending the twilight of his career on LTIR.

Weber was done. Price played a few games at the end of the next season, but looks done now. Byron has been out all year and is nearing the “done” category too. And Gally was so beaten up that next season and is now a shell of his past.

Well, boring hockey, but at least the boys played with a defensive conscience in the first period. If they want to avoid getting their doors blown off on nightly basis, that kind of attention to detail is required.

Well at least Allen didn't let in the 1st shot
Edit: but he is letting in all the others

Yikes, it looks like Allen ducked on the second goal. I get it that it is disconcerting not to see a shot come off the blade but come on man.

The game is lost, though in reality this is gut check time. On home ice the boys cannot afford to look like beer leaguers in the third period.

The latter would have been worth a lot now given the dollar bill is no longer in print. That dollar bill would have been a great souvenir with those signatures ... first saw those black and white postcards at a dépanneur not far from the Forum back in the 70s ... they also had the team postcards, as well, but I was still in high school and couldn't afford them ... nowadays, you can get vintage postcards at collectables shows, and collectable shops (seems to be fewer and fewer of these) ... found a lot of vintage stuff at flea markets, as well ... as for the cards, it depends on the condition of the cards, but common cards are fairly reasonable in price ... took a look for what they might look like today, so I went to the website ... I didn't see any postcards for sale, but they have team sets issued by Parkhurst ... they want $8.99 for the set, but it's also important to know what you're buying ... this set isn't worth all that much to a collector, but at the same time, it makes for a reasonably-priced souvenir for a young fan ... not sure if this is the entire set (below) and I didn't see them on the website ...

Well, it'll be their first home game after that long road trip, so to be honest, I'm expecting a loss ... I really don't want to hear the boo-birds, but at the same time, should it happen, the team is also going to learn that there's nowhere to hide when things go bad in Montreal ... but, you know they could find an extra gear for the reasons you're citing and that would be good ... I'll tune in on Saturday ... Cheers.
