If Matt “the Sieve” Murray wasn’t letting in every second shot before being pulled, we might be looking at no points fot The Panthers. Wins 2 Cups for Jim “horseshoes” Rutherford and then slinks off into the sunset. If there was ever proof life isn’t fair, Rutherford is an excellent example. Definitely in the running for worst drafting record ever. |

Wow! Talk about a win, win, win! Won on the scoreboard. Won on the ice. And won in the alley. Man, it's great to have Wifi to keep everyone honest out there.
Everyone played well. What's with the success with only 11 forwards? Is Marty creating a new coaching strategy? Maybe players are less complacent when they don't have regular lines, knowing the coach will constantly be moving players around and if you're not engaged you become the 10 or 11th forward.

Hockey is debatable. But for me unless one foresees Montembeault being the reincarnation of Patrick Roy over the next three months then I believe Montreal is a bottom ten team every day of week.
The Florida pick may well not be top ten because the Panthers have a talented roster. However, I see their playoff chances as slim. Right now, based on points percentage, Florida is 12th in the East. Even if one assumes Buffalo and Detroit are imposters and the only serious wild card contenders are Pittsburgh, Washington, and the Islanders, the Panthers would have to somehow manage to leap over two of those three teams. I know Paul Maurice is presently fond of saying the underlying numbers suggest his team should have a few more points in the bank. Well, perhaps, yet there is no getting around the fact Florida is leaky defensively and too many pucks end up in the back of the net.
