If I go to a single home game this season, which is about all I have managed since life includes kids, I would be pissed if the Habs were wearing those retro/Expos sweaters.
HNIC may be gross tomorrow, not only because of the normal Leafs love fest, but with the Habs depleted roster it will be hard to keep the game competitive. I sure hope the boys realize staying out of the box is the only way to give Montembeault a fighting chance. And St. Louis needs to wise up and not challenge anything remotely in the 'grey' zone because against Toronto there is no way he wins it.
So Drouin is not on IR? But he is not available? I guess the default seven d-men arrangement continues.

No matter how these teams stack up, this matchup always stresses me out. I've lived in Ontario for decades & most of my friends are fans but my feelings towards the Leafs have never softened. Utter disdain is putting it mildly.
I dont know what to expect. They best a good Jets team but lose to the struggling Panthers. Murray & Samsonov look pretty ordinary lately but which Montembault will show up?
Folatre, you may recall from game 1 this season that St. Louis passed on reviewing a late Leafs goal. So, I think the coaches know the score there.
I dont expect a win but maybe they'll surprise us. The icing on the cake would be if Bunting is dumb enough to take on Xhekaj. 😀

I hear your, man. I have family in the GTA. These games are always big.
Bunting is a useful winger, but his diving and yapping are insufferable. The thing is everyone knows he is not going to fight. I may be wrong, but I believe he has never fought in the NHL.
I do not foresee any nastiness tomorrow. Toronto's roster is basically sans tough guys. Even if Simmonds dresses, I just do not see him getting involved in anything unless a Hab happens to blow up one of the Leafs top guns. And frankly at his age, I doubt he wants a piece a young beast like Xhekaj.
For Montembeault's sake, I would like to see the Habs play smart, stay out of the box, skate, and see what kind of a game they can give one of the NHL's best teams 5v5.

The Habs/Nordiques rivalry was legendary, but I grew up watching the Habs/Leafs rivalry, and those games mean a lot to me ... more recently, the Habs, not only knocking off the Leafs in the first round, but getting to the Cup final, as well, was great to watch ... and, I thought of my Leaf friends, but only for a short while ... Round 2 was the new focus ... I developed that for the 2011 Bruins, and their fans ... won't get into it ... This young man has earned my respect ... Cheers. |

I developed that for the 2011 Bruins, and their fans ... won't get into it ... Boston has a well known history of being racist. Remember the Irish immigration? NBA players can tell you stories (and have) of fans screaming out racist tirades. At least in Philly, they just hate everyone. |

Going to a WHL game tonight, so will miss this puppy. I figured it would be unwatchable thanks to the HNIC Leafs love-fest. That was before Caufield was injured. Now, this could be ugly. A long second half coming up.

With the injury chaos wrecking the roster, the lines I saw on the NHL Network this afternoon are sad but not surprising:
Suzuki gets Pitlick and Anderson; Dach goes with Hoffman and Dadonov; Dvorak draws Pezzetta and Ylonen; and apparently Harvey-Pinard and Belzile will start the game as the spare parts on the incomplete fourth line. Wow, good times...

It is shame the bottom three, if not four, seem out of reach. Because with no Caufield this team may average something like 1.5 goals per game the remainder of the season.
