Man, 60 goals and 132 points, all the while hoisting the Cup on a dynastic team. '78 must have been one of Lafleur's Hart seasons.
Well, the boys could be feeling the rust after the long layoff. The Islanders are not on their bye week, so they will play a couple of games before Saturday. It will be interesting to see who Horvat lines up with and how he looks.
Yesterday the grandpa of one of my son's teammates made an interesting comparison between Horvat and one time mate in London, Dvorak. No, he was not saying Dvorak is anywhere near the quality of player as Horvat. Obviously Horvat is a more serious menace sniping, and he seems to have that clutch gene and leadership. But his point was more stylistically in the sense that both guys are shoot-first non-play-driving centres, great on faceoffs, average skaters, not really physical or defensively strong.
Again, the point is not that Lamoriello or any GM in the league see Dvorak in the same tier as Horvat. But my takeaway is that I would not want any centre for 8 x 8 who is stylistically in the mold of player as Dvorak.

I'm liking what RHP is bringing to the Suzuki line. After Dach he's looked better than anyone else that's auditioned in that top line role. Now is it only because our season is in garbage-time that a player like RHP is standing out, or could he become a permanent fixture with the club next year?

Saturday Habs' games are usually broadcast in Southern, South-Western Ontario. Not today.
But I can watch Calgary @ Buffalo...
Wonder if we'll get the Habs-Oilers tomorrow.

Saturday Habs' games are usually broadcast in Southern, South-Western Ontario. Not today. But I can watch Calgary @ Buffalo... Wonder if we'll get the Habs-Oilers tomorrow. I remember that too. Now, even though I have TSN2, I cant watch the game because am not in the "Habs region ". I get TSN5 which means I can watch Sens games. Yay🙁 Even McDavid's magic cant over come a goal directed in by a skate & stellar netminding by Campbell. (insert sarcasm here). Brannstrom, who hasn't scored in about 120 games floated a long wrister by him. |

 Wonder how they've been selling... --------------------------------------- I know it's just a glimpse, but that OT winner shows you why guys like Hoffman and Matheson are in the bigs. Too few and far between, but it's nice to see them work some finesse.
