Could not catch it live, so I just finished watching. Considering the long layoff, the boys played a solid hockey game against a team with plenty of motivation.
I know management cannot talk contract with Montembeault until July 1, but it is impossible not to imagine the club being interested in getting something done. Assuming he can stay relatively steady down the stretch, given his age and talent, I believe something like the Forsberg (Ottawa) deal would make sense for both sides.
It is astounding Montreal has won nine games in OT or SO. Although it is also astounding the boys only have twelve regulation wins after 52 games.

Took a long time watching since I was making myself fries in the air fryer, and they take forever for tiny batches. Still yummy. I didn't want the 2 points, against a Florida rival to boot, but that was fun. I guess the guys who will be back are clearly learning resiliency, if they need to. We could really argue who's the #1 center right now. Dach is making a believer out of me. Drouin and Dadonov have just got to go. I'm still seeing Kovacevic and Harris as a 3d pair... and nothing more. |

There was a lot to like about the Boys. But no gm saw anything to like in Drouin and Dads. When I saw Drouin was back I was like, please play the best honey of your life the next 3 weeks. But it was same old same old.
HPSauce still bringing it!
Baron getting better. Ylo not so much.

Good. Monty with a nice game. The bad thing about playing "spoiler" is that it also spoils our chances at a better pick. Que sera sera. I was kinda of hoping the OT goal was called back and we lost in the shoot out. That way we would have had the joy of the celebration after Hoff's goal but still not pick up that extra point and give the Isl an extra point on Fla. But Fla lost so today's win is a lot easier to handle - Isl picked up a point on Fla. |

The break up by Matheson was awesome, the pass was brutal The soccer play by Hoffman was awesome, the way he put himself in the absolute worse position to receive a pass was brutal It’s yin and yang with those two |

It was as if Hoffman put himself into the only position that forced Matheson to pass it instead of trying to develop a 2 on 1. The Hoffman, the freshest set of skates on the ice, barely out skates the defender and makes a relatively poor move, all things considered But Matheson, follows, and then not only bats a bouncing puck, but picks the top hand corner! |

Unfortunately he didn’t follow them up with scoring chances because he looked to pass |
