Nice play by the first line on the goal, and good for Barron to show confidence in jumping up into the play.
The boys delivered a quality period. There have been a few 'lost' nights this season, but one has to give credit to St. Louis for generally having his troops focused and working hard on a nightly basis.

Great play by Ylonen there dusting a Devil and setting up Kovacevic for the goal.

How many Grade A chances can Josh Anderson miss?
His greatest weapon is also his biggest liability - speed. He gets open with speed, but barrels in on the goalie so quickly he basically can only shoot it into his pad down low. He'd be better off shooting one stride after receiving the pass. No one would expect it. He will likely miss the net, but expecting him to deke and succeed is like waiting for a unicorn.

Two years from now, Kent Hughes is going to be kicking himself for not trading Sam Montembeault at the height of his powers. I’m too lazy to check it out but I bet he’s stolen 6 or 7 games for us. Damn.

Damn. Monty didn't get the memo. Or maybe he did and said "Forget that noise, I got some money to make and sats to maintain"

This was a bad night for our draft pick. At least Canucks came back to pick up a point. But I'm worried that with the Blues in full on fire sale mode they are all in on the tank. If Monty is going to keep this up we gotta rest him and/or Allen, bring Primeau up and get Primeau some valuable playing experience and if he sucks then fine.

Hurts the cause...but happy for Monty having a free-steaker against a top team.

It was always a pipe dream to think MTL would be bad enough to get Bedard.
Now Tank Nation better start praying to whatever deity they subscribe to that the #7 and #15 picks are more than 3rd-4th liners

Now Tank Nation better start praying to whatever deity they subscribe to that the #7 and #15 picks are more than 3rd-4th liners It was, but we knew that at last years draft when we say Chicago tear apart their team. Chicago, Arizona, Anaheim, Philadelphia...these weren't out of the blue. I think Columbus, Vancouver and St. Louis were expecting to be better than they are. I think people were hoping for the best odds possible. Heck even if we get 7, I would not be opposed to packaging say #7 and florida's pick and try to get in top 3.

I believe that the top 3 picks will not be traded, unless say the team holding the #3 pick really wants to choose Michkov, but feels the risk is too high at 3, they might trade down a pick or two and grab another first rounder. It will be very expensive to move up a couple of picks, but especially this year. Top 4 (or 3 if you're not completely sold on Carlsson and based purely on talent) are Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson and Michkov. Then there's another group of about 8 players who make up that second tier. It's not a coincidence that the Isles made their pick to Vancouver top 12 protected. But each team's list is different, right? Maybe there are 11 guys in that 2nd tier if you took in all 32 teams. Kids like Benson and Cristall may bump their way up within that 2nd tier. It's still a crap shoot, though less of one this year. Lose, Florida, lose! And Monty....how do you feel about an upper body injury that heals over the summer?
