Seems he's just filler since we're short on healthy warm bodies.
He's minimum salary on an expiring contract, so the only "cost" is less of an ability to sign college UFAs. You'd think a rebuilding team should attract some, specifically up front where we don't have great depth...

Basically a "figure 11", right Rick Depending on who gets traded, he'll either fill a hole on the main team or Laval and cost us nothing on cap or salary since he is making league minimum.

With Laval battling for the playoffs and the Habs battling injuries, I imagine this grab from the junk heep is just to help the Habs with the manpower problem without taking any more guys the Rocket needs to stay competitive.
I never thought much of Tierney, though he is good on faceoffs, tries to play a defensively responsible game, and can kill penalties. Unfortunately his skating way below average for a fast league like the NHL and in the last few seasons he has lost whatever touch for scoring he ever had.

I remember as a kid thinking one day i'd be the first guy from my hometown to play for the habs then as a teen i thought maybe i'd become a millionaire and pay to sit one game on the bench then one day maybe id be the stick boy but now 2 different guys from my hometown have wore the bleu blanc est rouge.
oh well so much for those dreams lol now its still just the usual one where we win a cup again.

We will improve more by reducing veterans with bad contracts than by adding journeymen. The kids are outscoring frozen veterans. Harvey Pinard outscoring Drouin. Anderson, big fast. shot and low hockey IQ.
