Lightning Strikes. Miracles occur. Drouin scores First time he's gone to the front of the net all year. Probably the last goal he scores in the nhl

The first shot on net goes by Montembeault.
That’s the 9th time this year the first shot on net got by a Habs goalie

Kovacevic has been brutal the past month.

We all thought we’d have two 80 point players at one point this year. It’s apparent now we won’t have any. But will we even have a 60 point player?

Kovacevic has been brutal the past month. I agree, i can't see how he sticks long term. Doesn't bring much of anything

This game feels like the game in San Jose, lots of open ice back and forth, not much precision from other team.

The lack of quality on both sides is glaring. But there was some serious physical play in the second period. Jones and Comtois are in an ornery mood tonight. And Edmundson absolutely blew up Strome behind the net. Jeje, some GM somewhere watched that and now wonders if saying yes to Hughes' asking price would not have been such a bad idea.

Matheson bulldogged Zegras, he didn't like being manhandled, and tripped Matheson. Got a penalty, but Habs didn't score. Jones is now jawing at the Habs bench. Might be some fireworks yet.

Anderson getting a penalty, probably for holding. He checked Vatrano well, but his hand hooked him and kept him from breaking away.

I sure don't like those ESPN streaks, which are supposed to (I guess) show where the puck is and where it was passed. Too often it looks like part of the stick. Just leave it alone, ESPN. If your viewers are too blind to see the puck, they can go watch NASCAR (which the do anyway).

3-1 now. Goals by McTavish and Silfverberg. Every loss helps but there's a lot of ground to make down.

Lots of peripheral play, but shots from there are being blocked. Have to get deeper into the high danger zones. Takes courage to do that.

1:09 left. Burrows exhorting the troops during a time out. Sure, Alex.

3-2. thirty seconds left. Earlier Ducks about to break out and attacker let the puck be knocked off his stick when all he had to do was push it out of zone first. Several dumbos in this game, on both sides.

A nice change to lose a game they were expected (?) to win instead of winning games they had no right to win.

Bedard with 4 goals and 1 assist in a 5-3 win over the Winnipeg Ice, pretty good team. Tank, tank, tank.

Drouin had a strong game. And I don't say that because he got that garbage goal which was going in even if Drouin hadn't touch it. He showed a lot of hustle and some nice play making, and at centre no less. Perhaps the passing of the trade deadline has with no interest from any gm has been an awakening. Or perhaps he was playing the worst team in the league with nothing on the line where he shines.
Guri reminds of some teammates we all had growing up - great speed and soft hands, and can't wait to get the puck to go up ice but they'll let teammates do the work to get it from the opponent.

I don't think it was going in. But even if it was, the hockey gods were evening things up for the goal he lost to Anderson that was definitely going in

Bedard with 4 goals and 1 assist in a 5-3 win over the Winnipeg Ice, pretty good team. Tank, tank, tank. Habs have a tank-friendly 10 game stretch in the schedule starting tomorrow: vegas, Carolina, NYR, Jersey, Colorado, Pittsburgh, florida, tampa x2, Boston.

Yikes, with those games upcoming, being the team leading the league in penalties might be a problem.
You know, boys, considering the Habs lead the league in penalties and also have one of the five worst penalty kills, the season a guy like Montembeault is putting together is all the more noteworthy. Because teams drowning in power play goals against generally have goalies with dreadful GA and Save% numbers.

They're flagging already. The others are tough, yes, but our guys seem to really get up for those games. That's a lot of games vs strong teams, though.
