I don't really remember much about him from the game I saw on TV, but that's good for a defenseman that I was not really watching. I was looking at their draft eligible forwards mainly.
Getting the call for your country is a great sign and he was ranked 7th overall for Euro skaters by the CSS. Some of their scouts thought something of his abilities.

Torp has only played 60 games over the past three seasons in Sweden due to injuries. He is very similar to Alexei Emelin. To be rated as the top European defenseman and the seventh best player overall, despite the lack of exposure, says volumes about Torp's potential. If he can stay healthy, he could be a major steal in the sixth round along the lines of Pavel Valentenko from last year's draft.
